UHD8000 : any way to monitor CPU / RAM usage - having problems with AI PQ on (no upscalling)

I m wondering if there is any way to monitor CPU / RAM usage on the zidoo ? Or if the following problems are known or could be a faulty device on my side (i still have 1 week to return it).

I have experienced some problems when i activated the AI PQ enhancer, at MED level, no upscalling.
The result was some frames (around twice in 1h) were scrambled, like if they were released for display before being completly decoded. Disabling this feature i didnt see same problems for the next hour. Nor did i on my previous movies (3 or 4) that were vithout enabling AI PQ.

I also experienced twice video pausing properly (then restarting), not a stutter (i would call it stutter if it was micro pausing with audio drop, but that was not the case, it was a clean pause of like 3 to 5 seconds and a clean restart, no dropout of any source, no frame or audio jumped). It was alwo when AI PQ MED was on.

Movie was 4k UHD, played using DV engine, bitrate was reasonable, average at 80 with no high peaks.

Last problem, that only happened once : the UHD8000 paused at hello screen on his lcd display, not outputing anything. Power on/off (hard power behind the zidoo, not the start button in front) solved it and it hasnt occured yet. Happened once out of overall perhaps 10 startup.
(nota : no CEC function activated anywhere, no EDID handshake problem possible as a Vertex VROOM is negotatiting the EDID with the zidoo).

Even if those problems are known, i d be very interested to know if there s a way to monitor CPU / RAM, and if it requires some sort of G version of the firmware, and if by doing so (installing a G firmware) if it would void or not the 15 day return policy in case there was a risk that my unit was faulty ?

    Many thanks in advance

I've never known AI PQ to cause an issue like that and because of the way it works it seems very unlikely.

However I've seen exactly what you describe with a corrupt file - image paused perfectly (but audio continued as I remember) and also momentary image breakup which is a classic symptom of corrupt data flow. As I say, in my case this was a file with corrupt encoding (which was my fault because i I did the encoding!).

I cant reproduce the problem at the same frame. I monitored a few things when some frames are displayed as corrupted (like only a part of the image is decoded, the rest looking encoded, and progressivly the next frames are more decoded till its fully decoded, it last 1 second top).

If i replay the video were some frames have looked like corrupted, 10 s right after it happens, then the video plays perfectly fine. (can conlude here that the partially encoded frames were not an expected result of the PQ algorithm)
I also constated that zidoo doesnt reload the file as he access it from memory when i go back 30s to replay when the problem happened, i did monitor the the network at the same time.
Which means, if the file arrived corrupted on the zidoo, it should have stayed corrupted in zidoo memory and replaying the same exact frame 10 second later should have resulted with same corrupted images, which was not the case. It also remove the possibility that the file was corrupted in memory.

Since yesterday, i observed the corrupted display a few times, it was always with AI PQ ON, on medium. I replayed a video without that function completly without any problem so far. I ll try to set te function on low to see if it makes any difference.
Files were always qaulity bitrate, no remux of any kind. Between 60 to 100 mbps 4k UHD (VS10 turned on).

So if its not a known problem, then my zidoo unit might be faulty ?
I also had again a freeze during zidoo boot, this time the zidoo logo was displayed on screen but frozen. Only switching off / ON AC power could solve it (the on/off button in front of ziodoo doing nothing).

I am thinking AI is like CEC at this point. Devil's business.

off subject : AI is only a marketing label, not using this label possibly resulting in less sales, but it remains an algorithm with predictable results if we take the case of PQ enhancement / Zidoo. About CEC i must agree, any device i acquire, the first thing i do is disabling any CEC feature, but i m a happy owner of an harmony elite).

What i observ leads me to think something in the "chain" is overloaded (only happened so far with AI PQ on at MED level, but i also had freeze at startup that i dont know if it could be related to my unit) and sometimes cant process correctly the image and delivers an half baked result (around twice per hour). The fact that it is not reproductible on the same frame tends to prove its not an algorithm problem (not an Algorithm problem), but more an hardware problem. Unless it was a known bug (bad optimization for example, mem leak, etc) i would tend to think that it could be my unit that is faulty. Thats the thing i m trying to assess.

It's not a known bug, it has never been reported before and I've never seen it on any of my boxes.

Reason why its important for me to assess if its a bug or a possibly faulty unit, is that if its a bug i thrust zidoo to correct it, and if not i would need to return my unit.

Is there any test you could suggest me to do to help further assess it, beside testing low/med/high setting ? I d rather not play with installing a G firmware at this point in case i d need to return the unit, but i d very much like to be able to check the cpu load when it happens ...

And many thanks again for your answers, much appreciated.

You don't need to install the G version - you can sideload apps. Personally I recommend that users DO NOT install anything in addition to what's included by default, but t's easy enough to reset factory settings if you do install something that misbehaves.

As I say, I doubt this is a hardware issue because of the nature of it, but it may be an idea to get a replacement to verify this. Trouble shooting is always a process of elimination and logic.

Would you have any link to sideload app on UHD8000, anything i found was for eversolo music apps

Not sure what you mean - you just run the apk.

Language selection is top right, but there is no need to use the web UI at all!!
