Since the most recent firmware update I've notice albeit some very old AVI files with "packed bit-streams no longer play. Even if you put the file within a MKV container makes no difference. As it's been on my to do list I'm converting them all to H264 and that solves the problem. Below is the Mediainfo file report of one of the packed stream files. I'm not concerned with this as it's easy enough to convert to a more modern format. It was a 2008 TV series New Amsterdam with Nikolaj Coster-Waldau in the lead role, which was unusual for an American TV series to feature a leading man from Europe.
