    Hi,
I tested the network speed between the Zidoo and my Mac on a GIGABIT netowrk using "Blackmagic Disk Speed test" I should be getting 100 mb/s but read & write is stuck at 11 mb/s.
Are there any settings i can change in the zidoo? Anyone have any ideas?

    Hello

You should be getting smth around 112MB/s if everything is perfect. 11MB/s means there is something causing your connection to be 100 instead of 1000 megabits. I am not aware of a setting inside the zidoo you could change that, so the next thing you could try would be a different cable. The cable needs to have 8 wires, your's could have only 4 and then it would be only 100 MBit.

    Best,

Those small plastic RJ-45 connectors are not the most reliable. If lose one pin it will drop down to 100MB/s. Sometimes you just need to unplug each end and plug it deep back in or turn the cable around. Watch the LED’s on the ports or front of the switch. Most of the time the colour will tell you if you have a 100 or a 1,000.

your advise was spot on. I always believed all LAN cables were the same with 8 wires. i was wrong. I was using cables with only 4 wires. I learn something new every day. I'm now getting 100 MB/s read & write. Thanks guys :)

How did you end up with 4-wire LAN cable? Those are really hard to come by these days. :D

They were supplied with my router from the ISP. They looked nice, so i kept them. I never noticed, or knew they were inferior cables.
