I would uninstall the non B one just in case. But I do have OCD and anything not fitting would drive me spare
So can we assume there will be an official update to the firmware sometime after the festival is over? It sounds there are a couple things that need to be addressed. Any idea when that firmware update might be available, or possibly an approximate time ? Plus is there anyway owners might be informed about this that don't know? I did read about something here on having firmware updates in the settings.
Excellent thoughts. Back out of the MediaCenter and scroll across to Setting (Cog Wheel) and open it. Scroll across to Other. Move down to Language and then further down to Upgrade. Scroll right to Update and press OK. Select Automatically check online upgrade and possibly Receive the beta version (unless you'd prefer to only get the alpha version). While you are there, click Online update to confirm you are up to date.
Thanks Peter from down under. I only wish every owner of Zidoo products looked in on this forum occasionally. In this busy world it seems no one has time anymore. " Dear fellas, I can't believe how fast things move on the outside. I saw an automobile once when I was a kid, but now they're everywhere. The world went and got itself in a big damn hurry." from Shawshank Redemption, which I hope everyone here has seen. In the end its all about hope.
Glad to have been of help. I'm sure there lots of users driven to distraction who haven't been lucky enough to land here. From what I've read, there will be an OTA roll out soon. I'm not sure why over the air was used, but I guess it's appropriate.
Quick question about backing up the database before installing the "fix" update. My movies are stored on my Z2000 hard drive and I also have a 9x 8k that I use to watch movies from the Z2000 via ethernet. Do I need to back up both devices or only the Z2000? I see that some people are losing their poster wall and have to reload, while others are not.
Even though the movies are stored in one place, I'd suggest each device should have it's own PosterWall backed up. It might not be absolutely necessary, but I certainly wouldn't be willing to take the chance. Are you okay with backing up the PosterWall? If not, here's a quick overview. In the PosterWall, move up to the cog wheel top right. Click and scroll down to Library. From there you can select the Backup folder and click on Backup. I always use a USB stick so I can remove it for safety.
Maybe use different sicks for each device, incase their backups aren't entirely 100% compatible and the date/time in the file name doesn't help differentiate them.
I haven't done anything to remove them such as Recovery and rest. I did reinstall the correct one and I believe the last one is the one that will be used. It seem to a bit more responsive, but I can't be certain. Anyway, I'm happy and at the moment not considering anything else.
When I was Backing up my PosterWall, I noticed the Export data to NFO file option. Now I already have some NFO files that were created by tinyMediaManager. Zidoo says its will be Kodi-based. I just checked as my TMM settings are all default and the NFO format is Kodi, so they would all be the same format. Will the Zidoo leave my existing NFO files intact, or overwrite them? Would it matter if they were replaced? Before I go ahead, does anyone have any experiences or advice they care to share. I have a very large collection, so I'm thinking it might be wise to do it overnight as I wonder if it might take a considerable time to complete. When I add more media and the Source is Updated, would be be any quicker? Having large collections, I takes considerable time to scan. I doubt there is anyway to undo it, so I am seeking some guidance.
I back up regularly and I overwrite any existing NFO’s. Hasn’t messed with any of my few special sources that I used matching via NFO only without TMDB or TVDB input.
