Hello, can you work on a new firmware to improve Tidal connect please? In my setup, Tidal disconnect from my Android Samsung tablet every 15 minutes... Tablet is SM-P610.
Did you get this solved in the meantime or having any inprovements due to latest updates from Eversolo, me not. I am having the same problems with lost connection all the time. Phone and Eversolo are in the same network, have checked this so may times as this is the only advise Eversolo and Tidal have given. This is very frustrating as I prefer using Tidal connect as it has some better features than the Eversolo onboard Tidal app. Seems this is still unsolved but don't know its a problem of Eversolo or Tidal itself. I Am using Samsung S20-FE 5G with Android 13. Would like to know if others facing same problems as we.
Although I don't have such problem with my A8, I agree that Innuos Pulse is a much better streamer. I tested it in my system about one year ago. Well, at that time Innuos didn't support the real Tidal connect. Their Tidal internal app was inferior to the original Tidal app.
It's a nice thing that the Innous is a (much) better streamer, but... price-wise... is it comparable?
Quality in hifi is expensive. For a good quality streamer + a good quality external DAC (+ good quality cables) we have to pay more than 5K. Well, it costs 3K more than the A8. Is it worth it? Depends on how much the difference in quality means to someone.
You are joking, right? You can get yourself an extremely good streamer for less than 400USD (and TBH you can make one with less than 100, but this is another story...) Get you a good DAC with pre-amp capabilities for another 300/500 (but there are options at lower prices too...) Get you an amp and speakers of your choice (here you can go as high as you like, but they are not relevant to the digital part of your system), say 1500 in total? I have a RPi-based streamer (with dedicated display) for 110USD, an Eversolo Z8 DAC for 700, and 2+1 class AB active speakers (L/R + SUB) for little over 800. I have exaggerated on the DAC (say, I could have spent less, a lot less) but in the end I have a transparent system for about 1600 USD. NOTE, you could achieve the same cleanness for about 1200, chosing more carefully your DAC (I chose mine based on performance and aesthetics, I have to be honest...) Nowadays, with state of the art DACs, power supplies, class D amplifiers/active speakers, it is no longer true that more money == better sound quality. More money, eventually, can bring you better after-sales service, or more inputs/outputs, or room-correction, or whatever else you may think of. But definitely not better sound quality. Especially talking about streamers. A digital streamer does not have a sound quality: it just takes the digital stream from point A and puts it on point B; no reclocking issues, no jitter, no noise, as they are bits: you EITHER GET THEM, OR YOU DON'T. There is no "I am getting a corrupted bit-stream" case, it simply makes no sense; otherwise, somebody could be getting a "corrupted" rendition of this very web page... and it is not the case, right? Once you know how the digital world works, many misconceptions, especially about audio/video quality. simply disappear. HTH
