As per the original thread: It's fair to expect the email within the next day or so, for that send out date to be met. I never noticed that they will be using DHL for delivery. I sure do hope they mark these as a GIFT with a value of '$0' (Zero) or a max of $20, as they are prizes in a contest. DHL is known to be a horrible option, due to their rather random brokerage fees (rarely, @ the 2.5% they state).
Yes DHL is horrible. Please ZIDO if you send it via DHL make invoice price to max 20 usd with transport cost.Total invoice must to be max 20 usd with transport.If there is no mark thet total price is with transport,DHL will use their price list for transport which can be 100 usd,and on thet price customs will make taxes.
DHL/Customs can only use the retail value of the X1 to make their charge, which is currently $59 as specified by Zidoo themselves, so calculation of actual fees that may be incurred should be very easy. So using an online duty calculator, I would pay a maximum of: £8.75 VAT plus the Import handling fees by DHL for import to UK: £1.25, or 2% of the import duty & taxes due, whichever is higher.
