The A6 does NOT support Spotify lossless![Solved in v1.5.60, support spotify connect lossless/24bit]

I just received the Spotify lossless (1gb 44.1 24bit) option in the ios Spotify app in The Netherlands. Amazing that Spotify surprised us after years of begging. My happiness lasted only a short while, because it seems that the Eversolo A6 does not support the lossless setting in Spotify connect, it says it only supports the 320 setting… Any ideas??

How do you play Spotify to your A6? Since they have added few options in the configuration for this new feature to work, the app on the A66 might be (well, most probably it is) not aware of such, and therefore not able to do the proper requests to the servers... Maybe we need to wait for Eversolo do align with the new API...
I thought, too, ot would have been transparent to the end-user, but apparently they are keeping the lossy AND the lossless catalogue; pretending you chose which one to use via a new API call.
Failing to do that will result in you using the lossy version (this is not bad, it is called backward-compatibility, and despite I would have not implemented this way, it is still a good thing to have)

I play with Spotify connect, I did not know there is another way to play Spotify on the A6?

    The native Spotify app, perhaps...?
Nevertheless, since you are using spotify connect, it still (the -connect app on the Eversolo) needs to be updated in order for it to be aware of the new feature, and how to use it.
It is an expected behavior; I am pretty confident that in the upcoming days / weeks, the Eversolo team will take it into consideration, and make the adequate changes for the new service to be available.
    Just be patient.
You know what? We can just pull in @Zidoo Support-Kim here, just to see if they are already aware of this new, loooong awaited Spotify option being now a reality...
    What about, mate?

That’s a screenshot of Spotify ios, where it says that the A6 only supports 320kbps.

That is, most probably, because the app on the A6 is not yet aware of the API changes necessary to inform clients about the new possibility (aka: it needs to be updated).
Here I would say the iOS app is up to date, and knows that it can offer to chose lossless 24/44.1 - that is, if the app on the other end (Spotify connect here...?) says it can, too...

TBH I haven't got the faintest clue about WHY they decided to go this way... in the end the client just needs to play a stream. Whatever it is. The underlying audio engine can (and should) handle it by itself...

Editorial: SPOTIFY is "evil." Better choices out there.

    You are almost right.
Spotify, however, to this day beats them all in terms of catalogue, and suggested music based on your listenings. This is a statistical fact, not my impressions...
Now they also do lossless (OK, ok, it is not hi-rez - but who cares, hi-rez is marketing blablabla in the end).
Their UI is also very easy to use and intuitive.

I think, seriously, that they nailed it, now.

Why just asking, So is living in California at the moment in my opinion and yes, I have spent quite some time in California. No pun intended. I liked most of the West Coast but California you can keep it , Your thoughts might be the same on the East Coast. I’m just making an honest statement, Spotify, as far as I’m concerned oh it’s been a couple years back. absolutely sounded awful. Not only to myself. They’re quite a few folks also here on the East Coast with myself that would also absolutely agree. I also do not believe that Apple Music is by far the best either, but it sounded a hell of a lot better than Spotify, I believe if I were absolutely serious, I would probably shoot for
ROON I would most likely think so,

From what I hear, Spotify retains much negative feedback in a bit of controversial concerns as to its business practices with its customers and artist, OK, I agree with that 110% why the folks keep doing business with them if this indeed is the underlying truth I don’t understand. Thank you . Christopher please advise.

    Please have a wonderful
    weekend coming up. ;-)

In fact, as far as I know, over the last few years Spotify has already worked extensively with the labels to make sure that (almost) their entire collection was upgraded to 24bit/44.1khz FLAC ahead of the release of Spotify Lossless ..... Which would make that today at launch, it can be expexted that the Spotify hi-res catalog already eclipses the Tidal and Qobuz hi-res catalogs ... So during the next few months it will definitely be interesting to see how the market will develop and what the impact will be on the various treaming services.

So still no update for this

Spotify keeps saying than max quality for DMP-A6 through Spotify Connect is Very High, not lossless

However if I use Spotify Connect directly with my Marantz AVR, it can stream Lossless

So I have bought a streamer, that cannot do Spotify lossless, to “improve” the quality of my AVR, that can do lossless…
