Yes that is the version immediately before 1.5.60. It is rolling out slowly as usual. I am in Europe also and mine came this morning.

    > Resolved in v1.5.60

My initial issue was idd resolved, but right now I'm experiencing a related issue. I couldn't find a way to reliably reproduce this issue.

    • A song is done, Spotify Connect switches to the next song in the playlist
    • The next song's metadata is loaded, but no audio is playing, AND the song is progressing to infinity.
    • This happens randomly
    • I'm on v1.5.60
A 3:07 long song can last for 1h 40m, because I was working and didn't notice that the playback stopped.

    DEMO: https://gofile.io/d/EIn1N0

In my demo, you can see that eventually, after switching songs, the playback resumes, and PLAY starts to play songs. BUT i've experienced a scenario in which skipping songs won't solve this issue. Spotify Connect won't play any audio unless I RESTART the device.

I don't want to complain, but it's 2 months now, and Spotify Connect is still completely broken.

    Edit:

After some testing, I'm pretty sure this issue is related to Lossless quality. If I have the Streaming Quality set to Very High (320kbps) for the PLAY, I don't have this problem. The moment I switch it back to Lossless, in 4-5 songs, this issue shows up.

No - it is not solved. I have exactly the same issue and it persists. Only natively installed Spotify works. Spotify via Spotify Connect is not working (Eversolo Play).

    Hi,
as the starter of the thread i would also like to thank the eversolo team for providing the solution. But one question remains still open:

Why is spotify connect approx. 6dB lower in volume than all other sources which i feed into the internal player (Tidal, QoBuz, my library on SSD) ??
Am i wrong but we lose here effective one bit of resolution, where do we lose 6dB ?

It can't be the loudness adaptation of spotify itself, it is not not available when I use connect.
Can someone help or explain, maybe Zidoo Support-Kim after your holiday ?

    Thanks in advance

    Arnd

thats exactly what it is. Spotify connect applies the loudness adjustment to the track and eversolo as of yet has not implemented any method to disable it. The app settings for volume normalization do not apply when streaming using connect.

to test use the internal spotify app on the device, where the volume normalization can be toggled on and off from the settings. for any given track you should find the output level when using connect matches the output level when using the internal app with settings "volume normalization" = enabled and "volume level" = normal.

Thank you, i just checked it and it behaves exactly as you described …. So, it would be nice having the possibility to switch loudness adaptation on and off while using connect…..eversolo team, your turn ;-)

Got it, will add a volume normalization switch. Should be off by default.

This morning the audio stops when a 24-bit song starts. To restore it, I have to select another speaker from the Spotify app, I use the one on my smartphone, and then reselect the DMP-8. I don't know if it's related to the same case.

Hello. I was happily listening away this morning via LMS/PCP and the music just stopped. Tried restarting both server and player and no joy. Also tried connecting to PCP end direct from spotify on phone and no joy. It connects but doesn't play. Have tried connecting from spotify app on phone to a spotify speaker in the kitchen that has no dependency on the LMS/PCP stuff and same thing, connects but doesn't play. Spotify app plays happily on the phone itself. Anyone having same issue?

So, let me understand: you just demonstrated that the spotify app in your phone does not even play on a speaker that is unrelated to Eversolo environment...
    Let me guess... Spotify problem?!?
