Spotify Connect Lossless is available on Eversolo V1.5.60!

    Tried it again this morning with Spotify Connect. The device suddenly stopped playing while listening to Spotify Connect; I had to switch outputs to get sound again. And now Spotify suddenly sounds MUCH better. The sound is wide and has a very good soundstage. It's still quieter than Tidal or Qobuz, but sounds much better than it was.
    It seems to be some kind of cache that was still being used somewhere, which was causing the poor sound quality. In any case, I'm very happy with it. Even 24BIT is playing perfectly.

    What outputs did. You change?

    Switched from USB to S/PDIF Coaxial. I feel like this connection sounds better for Spotify Connect, no idea why. I'll switch back to USB tonight and see how it goes.

    Interesting. Coax would use click in streamer. USB would use click in dac.

    Check under usb output that follow system settings is selected.

    Interesting indeed :)

    It seems that all incoming audio data (also S/PDIF) in the Denafrips Pontus 15th is stored in a FIFO buffer and then reclocked by onboard femtosecond crystals.
    The signal is probably clocked twice.

    If that's the case it is indeed weird... only USB should do that.

    I wonder if rebooting the DAC would help with USB?

    With regard to resolution of the 24bit play issue in software version 1.5.60 I have only found 2 albums labelled 24bit on their covers that showed on screen that they were playing in 24bit. Playlists that claimed 24bit played in 16bit. I did try switching off at the rear switch for a few minutes without change. However, irrespective of that I hear an overall improvement in sound reproduction following installation of the update earlier today, even while playing 16bit files. Please don’t loose that in future updates!

    One file removed which was not actually playing in 24bit. I have played a few 24bit files since. I don’t notice anything remarkable about them. I don’t think it is worthwhile actively seeking out 24bit based on my experience to date.

    Yes, I’ve found many of the play lists are misleading. They have a bunch of older, well recorded, music that was obviously not recorded in 24bit. I’ve had better luck, mostly, with more modern recordings, although the newest dark side of the moon is 24 bit.

    I deleted one of mine. It was not playing in 24bit. I must have become confused. Just to let you know . I updated my thoughts as well, for what they are worth.

    I still have to start Spotify from the A6 screen after the update.
    Only then will my phone show RK3566 on connect.

    Try reboot DMP-A6 and dont use the spotify app on the screen

    Thanks but I've had this issue for months now and I tried everything.
    It might be a home network problem.
