Since yesterday I have an DMP-A10 and I installed the latest control app. I imported my music collection of about 1800 albums and saw that under the category "Albums", the sort order ist a little bit strange. 1. Groups like "The Beatles" are sorted under "T" 2. Artists like "Michael Jackson" is sorted under "M" 3. No possibility to sort albums of release year from the same artist (sort order "artist, year") Solutions: 1. Create an input field for the possibility to define articles to ignore when sorting (like: "The El La Los Las Le Les Die Der") 2. The easy way for that is named "Artistsort" or "Albumartistsort" --> it is an official TAG which you can evaluate 3. Add an additional sort order for that. I previously used the open-source Lyrion Music server (formerly known as "Logitech Squeezebox" server) which you can use as an template ;-) Kind regrds, KrischanHH
Hello there. Thanks for your feedback! 1. The library in the app supports albums sorted by date, whether under "Albums" or "Artists". 2. The suggestion of the artist sort order has been forwarded to evaluate. 3. Could you please capture some screenshots from Lyrion, like tags, sorting, interface that you appreciate? Regards.
Hi Kim, The screenshot "Album sorting options" shows you the sorting options of the media server and you see also, that "The Beatles" are listed under "B" and the albums are sorted by year. The other screenshot shows you one configure screen of the Lyrion media server where you can definbe the articles to ignore. And another suggestion from my side regarding the app is the starting page of the app. It shows the registered Eversolo device (in my case the DMP-A10) and the button "Add device". My suggestion would be that it will be possible via a setting in the app to disable this page, because normally you add your device to the app and after that you do not need to add more devices (in my case). So if you start the app the next time you will be forwarded directly to the DMP-A10. Regards, KrischanHH
Thank you, KrischanHH. The pictures clearly convey the message. Your meticulous feedback and thoughtful suggestions are appreciated.
Based on our current software framework, this may be a big project. But I will continue to push the progress of this feature. thanks
Hi Bob, I think this an essentials feature, because when you have several albums of the same artist it's annoying to search the newest album of the artist. And another thing is that when you have a lot of albums with "Various Artists" (like sampler), it is hard to find the right album. When you look at the Lyrion music server, they implement this sort order since many years and you have a much better overview of your collection. Many of your streamer users have more than a few hundred albums, they have normally thousands of them. I think you have a database in the background (like sqlite) and then it is not a big thing to create a sql-query for that. Kind regards, KrischanHH
I'm not a developer but an IT-guy and I don't know if Eversolo uses a SQL-database for their purposes.
