Sideloading (streaming Music and other) APP's: Aggregated list!

Thanks Grayswandir. Procedure works well, no hiccups other than you have to Google Store twice under Anonymous. After that, all is OK.

 

Ok, can someone help out an android newbie? I'll say what I've figured out in these 11 pages of posts, and what I am still missing. I'll keep reading.

I found out the default Apple Music/Classical does not support hires/lossless for obscure reasons.

So I need to find an "APK" file. Where?!?! There seems to be a wild-west of app distributors outside of the google app store... some, like this one "apkpure" seem to supply an "XAPK" file. Can I use that? How? Is there a better place to look?
I cannot even post a URL here, it rejects my post.

I can handle the USB computer/stick file transfer and install, this looks simple enough.

See post#200 in this thread. It is the one that I followed to download the Apple Music/Classical apps and more. Once you have downloaded the app, go into the apps settings and change to hi-res.

 

Thanks so much for the pointer!! I did read the pages in reverse order (newest to oldest) but was focused on getting a reliable clean APK for RadioParadise, AppleMusic and AppleClassical.

Installing the aurora store as an app on the DMP-A6 nd then those three ^ worked great. Lossless!

Next problem, to be in another thread... I can't get any analog audio out of my new DMP-A6-gen2. Dead silence on RCA or RCA+XLR. BUT it works (with rate limit) to PCM output. Frustrating.

 

Open a new thread and provide as much information as possible. Input source?

 

Have anybody worked out to run the mixcloud apk on the eversolo with latest firmware on ? Was working fine with the older firmware ... now it seems not possible ... everything else is working perfect for me.

 

I was able to load LiveOne (formerly slacker). Unfortunately, it won’t let me get past the sign in screen. I can add ID and password, but the keyboard loads the button I need to hit to proceed. Drag. Ah well, I have been able to use the app with airplay, which seems to be streaming airplay 1, which means lossless.

EDIT: Nevermind. I was able to install it fine using the web interface rather than copying from a USB stick.

When I try to install the Aurora Store APK on my DMP-A6, I get the message "There was a problem parsing the package." Anybody else experience this message?

 

Actually, after I tried to sign into it on the app, instead of the touch screen, I was able to scroll to where the password was required, and signed on. It’s all working fine now.

Hi guys, is there any chance to install an ftp server on the unit, which would have access to music files on the internal (inside installed) M.2 SSD drive?

 

Why would you need it; you can share it via SMB...

Hi I side loaded VLC onto my DMP A6 Gen 2. I have a bunch of concert dvds ripped to a hard drive I loaded onto the unit. I’m wondering if it’s possible for VLC to see this hard drive locally? Currently it only shows it has a SMB library which would be over the WiFi. Every time I try to add this library to the VLC for videos it crashes. I’m wondering if it was done by a local library it could handle it better.
Can anyone confirm if their internal hard drive shows as a local library in VLC?

I'm having a problem with Tidal. I can no longer access my own playlist on Tidal. All Tidal playlists work.
On Eversolo, it's called "My Collection." Everything works fine via Tidal on my PC. My other network player can also access it, and everything is there in the car. Does anyone have any tips? I've already unplugged it.

I've now managed to make all my playlists public in the Tidal app on my PC.

Now Eversolo can find my playlists again. Why? God knows.

 

Anyone using a video player app to play locally saved videos?

 

Has any tried the BBC Sounds app ?
