I am unable to use sd card for internal memory tried numerous sd cards and they all come up with an error when the x9s ries to format them . Just wondered if this was a hardware or software issue

In my case, at put the SD card as internal memory has been damaged and no longer recognize or windows or android.
It was a new Sandisk Ultra 32GB class 10

It creates a partition on Tf card makes it unusable in windows
You can easily rectify the card thru Windows disk Manger,
Delete the partition on TF card reformat, card is ok

SD/TF cards do have a problem I have tried 4,8, 16 and 32 GB, all fail at the present

Which formats did you try? EXT2, FAT32, NTFS and exFAT should all be supported.

Here was Fat32, if you attempt to format card thru X9s it gets to 20% then fails.

The others all support big individual files over 2 GB but FAT32 does not. I would go for NTFS or exFAT (EXT2 when using a Linux PC for uploading).
exFAT is the new Defacto standard for SDXC but also can be used on SDHC.

The formatting tool is clearly buggy, but anyhow uses a suboptimal (by now obsolete) standard.
It is the first Android Media Player that includes a formatting tool as far as I know. That is the good news.

I suggest external formatting and see if the inserted cards then work. That is the most important part.

Using Samsung Evo, Toshiba, all hang or stop 20% and fail as still seen by some users.
Running latest firmware 1.26 problem still exist, will try other cards soon.
Cards are working ok in other devices

Also tried with a Sandisk 16gb, a purchased a new Samsung Evo plus 32gb
Using both sd card slot, and external sd/tf card reader

Gets to 20% and hangs for about a while then onscreen error
    Screenshot_20161107-205639.png

I then deleted the card partitions (no format) and inserted back into x9s...
x9s advised the disk need to be formated,
1 selected format portable storage...ok easy done and working

2 selected for internal storage, 20% and failed, removed deleted partitions.

3 Inserted advised advised disk need to be formated,
selected internal and get an error message after about 2 minutes or so the card is to slow formatted to 60% this time, after hitting ok the card was OK and ready to use
    Card is a class 10 80/20

What we all do, =waiting for a fix from Zidoo. You can format the card on another platform and use it as External memory then in the mean time as a bypass.
