Screen Saver

Please in the next firmware, make a screen saver o black screen when pause a movie or tv show in Home Theather, Thanks!!

 

Does the buildin screensaver don't work for movie playback?

 

No it does not.

 

You're right. Just tested it with a 30 sec timeout and no response from Home Theatre ! Tried it with Media Centre, Music Player, Settings, YouTube, Google Chrome, ... and the screensaver DOES kick in after 30 secs. Weird and annoying!

You can add other images to the ZD screen saver.

Use Google Images to find suitable ones. Make sure that they are HD or 4K and bigger than 3000 px by 2000 px for best results.

Save them to the "Storage > zddaydream" folder, where the four original Zidoo images are stored (zd_01.jpt to zd_04.jpg)

 

Hard to control HDMI resolution/fervency/HDR/DV/HDCP when is resume from screensaver(Android UI rendering) to restore for proper settings of video play is required HDMI reset/re-sync output then can end just with backscreens.

 

Zidoo could add something like black screen after x minutes pause to HT and keep all video settings.

 

black screen, dim screen, black with moving something dim. anything would be better than nothing.
i don't recall it working with media center either when playing a movie. not sure about kodi or the zidoo kodi,

 

YEP to overlay screen similar to INFO, with 90% back png until resume maybe are possible, R&D of Zidoo need to study.

 

Otherwise you can use your TV screensaver, that's what I use.
