SACD ISO Patcher — a tidy SACD library on your Eversolo

I honestly don't understand your comments. You keep insisting on these DSFs. I know there are no problems with them, but they're twice as large as a DFF/DST or Wavpack/DSD. For example, do you keep PCM files in PCM or FLAC? If there's the possibility of having lossless compressed DSDs, why not ask? And you're not demanding, you're just asking if it's possible to support them because other programs support them, that's all... We bought the Eversolo, and this forum is there specifically to ask questions about this product. I'm not demanding anything, I'm just asking. If it can't be done, no problem.

 

This is a user forum. You're asking a user in a topic that has basically nothing to do with your questions. Just out of curiosity, are you older than 70? That would explain some things.

 

The problem is not the compression. It is the tagging. And DFF files, as a standard, are not meant to be tagged. As were WAVs. Then someone came over with a brilliant idea, and everybody got along with it. You probably wouldn't be concerned about tagging MP3s with VorbisComment tagging system, would you... There are standards. That's it. If we don't follow them, then we end up here asking the how and the why things are not "yet" supported. Think about it.

I have already explained the difference between Sony containers (.dsf) and Philips containers (.dff/.dst) several times, even with pictures. And yes, unfortunately Eversolo does not read some tags the way other players do. But this should be reported in feature requests, in the appropriate threads, not in this topic, which is dedicated exclusively to SACD ISO Patcher. No Eversolo engineer will read it here.

 

You are right about the place of reporting.
You are also right when it comes to tags read (or not) from the ISO images.
For tags not being read from DFF files, OTOH, it's a completely different story, as I already said, maybe several times (maybe not here, but in similar threads)

 

Since the very first version, I have been using and following the development of this program.
I never tire of being amazed at how useful, functional, and easy-to-use the tool was offered to us by the author.
It is especially important that the program is constantly evolving (for example, in terms of processing non-standard and "broken" ISO images), while maintaining the clarity and simplicity of the interface.
A detailed and professional comment on any possible user action such as "Make changes" or "Save" is pleasantly impressive - you won't accidentally ruin or erase anything.
I think this program should definitely be included in the "golden" toolbox of any (digital) music lover, along with: iso2dsd, foobar, mp3tag, fre:ac, CUE Splitter, etc.

 

What I used to do with iso2dsd I now do with this excellent program

 

I love the conversion of the non-standard 2064 byte images. This application is getting better and better every day

Introducing my new project: reauthor.

It is a program for creating your own SACD images. For now, it supports only a standard .iso image that can be played by regular players. The project is still in deep development, and I have many ideas planned, but it already includes everything needed to create a basic image with DSD. Everything is very intuitive.

To create an image, you need DSD files (.dsf/.dff-dsd/.dff-dst/Edit_Master). If the DSD files contain tags, they can be imported, so you will have to enter less metadata manually. Optionally, the stereo area can be compressed to DST.

Add the files, change their order if needed, enter the metadata, set the pauses between tracks, and the disc will be built very quickly. The disc is assembled according to the specification and fully follows the standards.

There are files in any version of the distribution - README.txt and CHANGELOG.md.
All current and previous updates are described in detail in these files.

 

Congratulations also for this program, really excellent and well done. I tried creating two SACDs starting from dff/dst files, it created them and finally now the Eversolo also recognizes the genre..... So excellent I would say, it sees Song Title, Artist, Album and Genre..... I did two tests, one of the Jazz genre and the genre is recognized, one of Rock music but that is not seen, perhaps because there is Rock Music? Can't you just put Rock? Also when I load the dff/dst files no tags are exported, I have to retype everything by hand, song title, artist etc.....

Regarding the tags I understood, in the second step there is a way to import the tags, sorry I didn't notice.....if you can see why eversolo recognizes jazz and not rock music, in my opinion you have to remove music and only rock recognizes it

 

The per-track genre takes precedence over the album genre, so you have to make sure to apply the genre to all tracks.

 

I put the same genre for both the album and for each individual track, I only tested two and Jazz is recognized while Rock Music is not, we should understand what eversolo recognizes regarding the tracks... I'm talking about ISO files, but if we're talking about DFF files, no genre is recognized so this excellent program that allows you to create the ISOs is convenient because there is a way to make eversolo also recognize the genre.
