    Hi new to this forum, so apologies if this has been addressed before.
    I could not find settings to have DMP-A6 act as music server (using USB or internal SSD music libraries) for external devices on the same network.
    Any hint?
    Thanks in advance

    The A6 shows its drives via Samba sharing to other devices on a local network.

    Does this mean there’s nothing to set/configure on A6 and I just have to check other network devices support Samba?

    Yes, and then from those devices just add the drive/folder shared by the A6 and update their libraries.

    I just purchased my A6 from ziddo.tv and it arrived overnight! They shipped from a local Amazon warehouse. Awesome. They didn’t charge me sales tax, a nice savings. The unit is very well built and the display is beautiful. I use cast so no need for a remote. Copied all my FLAC files to an NVME 1TB SSD & it works great. Using the Apple Music app works great.

    Hi, I don't know if these topics have already been covered, I've had the masters edition for 2 days, I only use qobuz and I always find the "recently played" box empty, why? then the spectrum analysis in pianissimo, I listen to a lot of classical music, it doesn't move, bug? or decibel sensitivity problem? There is also the problem of lack of synchronization but it is minor.
    I am connected via balanced, volume blocked, and I left default on the db output, the volume is higher than usual, not a lot , it seems to come out quite high, normal ? or there is some setting what did I miss?
    Thank you and sorry for the inconvenience
    I have the last upgrade.

    @Berico
    The Spectrum Meter is a gimmick not meant to be a measuring instrument. It runs on low CPU priority.
    Output on XLR is high to allow directly AMP endstages. There is a setting pet Output port type to set an upper limit.

    I don't think it's a big problem or is there a risk of input saturation? however, when you select the volume bypass it is obvious that the peripheral will be used with a preamplifier and not with a power amplifier, so ''default'' should be for RCA 2V for XLR 5V, otherwise remove default and propose a rme style manual scale, easy choice, the fact that the spectrum analysis is not a spectrum analysis is a problem, not for me, but for those who sell it as such.
    I hope they can fix it.

    obviously thank you very much for your availability

    I own the A6 since August and I use it as a pure digital transport going in my AVR (Anthem MRX 740) where an EQ is applied. Just one question: is there a reason to prefer the COAX output from the A6 over the HDMI output? I mean, in terms of sound quality, or are they equal?

    Bits are bits => 010000011100101
    Either they pass or they don't.

    You are right but many times I read, with regard to different source devices, the COAX output was better than HDMI, maybe jitter could be the main factor...

    How the total chain deals with jitter is very relevant. Mainboard clocks at the transmitting end typical drive all digital outputs and directly depend on the quality of the oscillator. So for HDMI and Coax they are about the same. Optical converts the signal twice resulting in considerable additional jitter hence is the worst choice (100% galvanic isolation is the only advantage).
    - HDMI is normally not buffered at the receiving end so the transmitter determinates the clock accuracy. This actually varies a lot I discovered in practice even for cheap(er) devices. The sound with DMP-A6 via HDMI is excellent and a positive exception.
    - For USB (some including SPDIF) most External DAC's use an intermediate buffering stage (mostly XMOS based) resulting in control by internal DAC clock accuracy. Amplifiers may do so also for digital inputs but mostly only with (very) expensive units.

    Ok, thank you for your explanation. That being told: with regard to A6 how good the clock accuracy of HDMI output is? Anybody checked it?

    No matter how good or bad it is, it is the very same for coax, optical and HDMI.

    Are you trying to copy/transfer files to/from the A6 internal SSD? On my Mac, I open Safari web browser and enter smb://192.168.1.x then it will open a share in finder. X being your A6’s IP address. You can then copy files. The instructions are in the A6 settings page.

    Then it seems like the HDMI (like the USB2.0?) kind of dictates the clock to the receiving device? It "sounds" a little weird to me, but then again, nothing prevents it from being done, circuitry permitting.
    In the end, if you (the OP) resort to asking what might be the best signal, means you are not able to discern it based on your ears alone: use whichever better suits your needs...

    Glad my 70 years old ears are not that picky! My Eversolo DMP-A6 replaces an Allo Boss 2 I’ve had for a couple of years and was very happy with. What I missed was a nice display and the Eversolo DMP-A6 fullfils that desire. It looks beautiful sitting in my BDI console.

    In terms of sound, can’t say I can hear a difference between both units as they both sound awesome on my Klipsch RP-8000F and a Sony STR-AZ5000ES.

    As an Apple Music fan sure appreciate playing Apple Music without having to use airplay.

    Thank you for your feedback, sometimes I read that COAX is better than HDMI or viceversa indeed. It's not said it's the same, it depends on how well these outputs are implemented in a specific device, that's the reason why I asked.
    As far as I understood from your link on the A6 HDMI output is better implemented than COAX...
