Review and need-to-know Eversolo DMP-A6 streamer

I've been using simple music dlna server on NUC that has simple structure and it does fantastic job https://minimserver.com/

 

Updated mainly to add the "Text Only" themes. Will later add some pictures to show all 5 current themes now available.

 

What I would like to see that is missing is smart integration driver support ie Control 4, Creston, URC control to have the ability to use IP or IR for power up/down sequences as a minimum. The Zidoo 2019 driver does not work for Eversolo devices.

The Linear PSU update comes with a 5V/12V cable replacement made of silver (confirmed). Seen the extreme short length it must be regarded symbolic.

 

"symbolic" just like the "gold" batches on my Eversolo.

 

Do you know if it is possible to organize the applications in some way? It would be nice to be able to move them and put them to your liking.

I think this is the case if you play via the file explorer. playing via music player uses the database and ID fields, so you don't see title numbers and directories.

 

Does the master editions spdif/coax output and/or the usb dac output benefit from the femto clock used?

I am asking because only want to use it digital, I totally dislike the analog stage of at least the regular dmp-A6 , maybe to spoiled by chord dacs, and gustard dacs but to me it sounded too clinical.

I am testing the regular a6 as a transport, but wondered if the femto clocks of the master edition do benefit the digital out, or only used for the internal dac?

 

It seems that two clocks are related with XMOS dsp.
There are other clocks for dac hdmi and digital out.
Then, if you consider for transport, DMP A6 and A6 master edition is the same thing.
