Dear Zidoo / Eversolo / Luxsin Audio Team, I am writing to respectfully request an update to the Windows USB Audio driver currently available on the Luxsin Audio download page (for the X8). It appears that the currently provided driver is based on an older version of the Thesycon USB audio driver. Since that release, Thesycon has addressed several critical issues in their recent updates (V5.62.0, V5.68.0, and later). Could you please consider releasing an updated driver for your users? We are specifically hoping for an update to apply the following important fixes: Critical Security Vulnerability Fix (Most Important): Older versions of the MSI installer contain a severe vulnerability (CVE-2024-25376) that could allow a local attacker to execute arbitrary code with SYSTEM privileges. This was patched in Thesycon V5.68.0, and it is highly urgent for user security. Fix for Deadlock upon Wake-up: Resolves an issue where a deadlock (system freeze) occurs when waking the PC from sleep mode. Fix for Descriptor Parsing: Corrects a bug related to unit descriptor parsing in the audio control interface. Official Windows 11 Support: Ensures full compatibility and stability with the latest Windows 11 releases (such as 23H2, 24H2, etc.). Updating the driver would greatly improve both the security and stability of the user experience. We've already forwarded this request to our PM team for evaluation. At the moment, however, the vast majority of our engineering resources are focused on developing upcoming new products, so this request is currently considered a relatively low priority.
That's a shame. The market is already flooded with Eversolo and Luxsin products of all shapes and colors, while ongoing support of existing products takes a back seat. As far as I'm aware, you guys are the only vendor that doesn't bother to update the Thesycon driver.
