    Hello Mark
I have some advice for you: how can I choose Eddid for the Z30 Pro with HDR10 OLED LG screen? Thank you very much for your advice. I'm a bit of a beginner.

Because I read for those who want to remove dolby vision from a dolby vision screen is it important to remove dolby vision EDID
    4K60HZ HDR10

You don't need to change the EDID with the AMLogic players - just go to Settings/Display/HDR and set "HDR Output Mode" to "Advanced Settings" and then set "DV Content Output Mode" to "HDR".

If still want to remove Dolby Vision from your EDID then post your EDID here I can remove Dolby Vision from it:

    To Download EDID
    ================

    Settings/Display/Custom EDID/Save EDID

Save to a USB stick or network location

Post file as attachment to forum

It's entirely up to you. Personally I'd keep it.

Auto will provide audio in according to your amp/TV's specification and RAW will produce a raw bitstream regardless so may produce an output your amp/TV cannot decode.

    Auto should be fine.

    Good evening Mark
I'd like to know if the 1080p videos have a black screen every time they start, but no, they don't in 4K. Please help me.

That sounds like normal HDMI resync.

When either resolution and/or HDR mode and/or frame rate changes, HDMI has to resync which means a black screen for a few seconds depending how your display handles it.

    Hi,

I recently purchased my first zidoo player (V30 Pro) and I love it!

With respect to forcing a 4k Blu-ray rip with Dolby Vision to play in HDR10, does using the custom EDID 4K60Hz BT.2020 HDR10 vs. using the standard EDID + setting the Dolby Vision content output mode to HDR10 result in the exact same picture processing being done by the zidoo player?

In other words, do both methods entail that the zidoo player reads the HDR10 layer from a file? Or does one method entail that the Dolby Vision layer is converted to HDR10, hence requiring additional video processing?

    Thanks!

Yes, both methods simply use the HDR10 base layer in UHD BD rips unprocessed as long as "Dolby VS10 for DV Content" is set to "No".

(Profile 5 content is converted regardless of VS10 setting because Profile 5 doesn't have a compatibility layer and therefore to get HDR10 it must be processed)

I recently upgraded my Z9X to the Z9X 8K. On the 1.2.22 firmware.

I like the Music Player 8 very much. I was testing what media that I have and noticed that my one 192kbps album had issues. I pressed the play on the first track, then the box would sit there like I did not press play. If the play does not work, I went and pressed play again, nothing happened. I pressed the back button to leave the album, re-enter the album and pressed play again. Still nothing happens. Press back to leave the album. then all of a sudden the track plays. I think about 12 seconds after the play, or there abouts.

Once it started playing 192kbps media, it was fine handling the other tracks. Is this a mode switching issue? Because for 96kbps, 48kbps, and 44.1kbps there was no issues whatsoever. I can repeat this case again, the next day.

I remember on Music Player 7, there was no such playback issues.

This behavior i recognize from my Z3000 . On the first track (after boot) i often have to use the next, previous buttons to get the track going. If i remember correctly also with the tidal connect function.
Some track changes result in a full stop.
my first guess is the HDMI handshaking is not handled correctly.

I looked at all the audio settings. Nothing worked for my one 192kbps album. It was a WV file.

Then, I used ffmpeg and converted it to a flac file. For me, problem solved. No more playback audio HDMI handshaking issues.

However I dunno why this WV file was causing issues for Music Player 8.
