Some news about my DTS HD HRA no sound problem.
I plugged the Zidoo directly into my Arcam amp with HDMI main ( image+ sound)
In this case, I have good sound with DTS HD HRA files, no problem.
The problem seems to be with the Zidoo's HDMI AUDIO ONLY output.
Can you please report this to Zidoo support.
    Thank you

Do you use the HDMI AUDIO ONLY output on the Zidoo?
If I use the main HDMI output with picture and sound together, I don't have any problems. The sound is read and decoded without any problem.

    HDFury!

Please help, what to choose in Zidoo (8k series, Z30 Pro) which is connected to HDFury, because I don't see anything about LLDV in the options?
I saw from the screenshots that in 4K models there was this option. I currently have HDR set to Advanced and for everything VS10. Set HDR to auto, how should it be?

It depends on your display but you can select Auto to try. This guide may help you

Holy crap! That guide will not help!!!

It's full of inaccuracies and nonsense - where did that come from???

Obviously LLDV is only available if the EDID supports it, whether that EDID comes from the display, the Zidoo or the HDFury device.

Come on, it's from Zidoo publications and I followed it at the beginning.

    It doesn't even warrant correction.

You're right but such statements were spread out by Zidoo at the earlier years. Damm!!

Yes, I got it from Zidoo but can't remember when and where. Read the text where they write "Zidoo media players" in several cells.

Must have been way early on, certainly nothing I've ever seen.

Anyway - ignore it, it's nonsense!!

I don't have an Arcam, but I use separate HDMI outputs for video and audio and DTS HD HRA has no problem.

    "Display/HDR/UI Display Mode: SDR "

Why not change UI Display Mode to HDR, then when you turn on a movie in HDR the projector electronics don't switch and we don't lose those few seconds of black image.
Are there any advantages to leaving UI Display Mode in SDR?
Are there any disadvantages to UI Display Mode in HDR?

Absolutely no problem at all in doing that - in fact it's entirely sensible to set the UI mode to the resolution, frame rate and HDR mode of the majority of your content to reduce HDMI resyncs.

In my cinema I show all content in LLDV and since the vast majority of it is 23.976, I set my UI to 4K23 LLDV and have Auto Frame Rate set to Frame Rate Only so I only ever see resyncs with content that is not 23.976 regardless of its HDR mode or resolution.

That's exactly what I'm talking about, and the interface can be set in Zidoo even as DV together with Vertex2 now :D
I set the interface to 4K24 fps and all videos are permanently set to 4K24 fps also.
I have the impression that those that have 23.976 run a bit smoother when you force them to 24 fps, and I don't see any audio resync, subtitles or other problems.
Maybe it's a habit from the old box..

Have you ever tried something like this? What do you think about this solution?

    No - absolutely not!!

Playing 23.976 content at 24Hz results in a frame drop every few seconds.

In theory yes, but when I watch a movie, even a 3-hour one, I don't feel any resync or anything.
Try it yourself on one movie!

Resync has nothing to do with framerate. If you don't see the frame drops then that's great - but trust me, if you play a movie at the wrong framerate, frames are necessarily dropped in order to maintain the audio framerate.

Using the wrong frame rate is not a solution.

And yes, of course I've tried it - it's horrific! You might as well play everything at 60Hz if you're going to ignore frame rates (and no, I DON'T recommend that either!!!).

I've always said that if it looks right to YOU then it IS right, however, in the case of mis-matching frame rate I'm afraid I just cannot advocate that under any circumstances.
