Before I purchase the Z9X I have a few questions. I currently have an Unraid Server with about 40TB of full 4K blu rays in MKV format. I'm also using an Nvidia Shield TV Pro, Marantz Cinema 50 and a Sony Bravia 7. Also using Emby Server on my server and the app on my Shield

Currently setup as following Server to router, then to Nvidia Shield. HDMI out to my receiver, then out to my TV.

I just want to make sure I can continue to do the above but just swapping out the Shield for the Z9. As well, can I install Emby and will it read my Emby server libraries?

Also, are there any issues with movie playback (all mkv format) such as stuttering, subtitles, forwarding etc or does it work perfectly without issue as my shield does now?

You can the player has Plex, Jellyfin and Emby support and clients built in, that will use the external Zidoo Player for decoding.

I use Jellyfin but I prefer the inbuilt Poster Wall app that Zidoo have made, you just point it at your SMB shares on the NAS and it will scan and catalog your files. The database is stored locally on the device, you may have to fiddle a bit to get the matches right but once it's done I find the overall experience better. Picture quality from the device is leagues ahead of the Shield.

What I would say though, is this is not a device for streaming services. It's not Google Certified and you won't get 4k Netflix, Disney, Amazon etc. Youtube works fine if you install the Google Firmware Version, although i'd just forget about streaming services. It's designed for local playback of your own library.

It's a fantastic device if this is what your want, probs one of the best.

Yes it is - it depends though on your spend budget - the UHD8000 is probably the best on the market at this point in time though

Yeah agreed, I should have said that really.

I've got plans to get a UHD8000 soon as really looks a nice unit, so that can be in the main system and the Z9X 8K can go in the bedroom.

Hey - I installed Jellyfin as couldn't find it on my 3000pro not sure where it would be -if you can point me in the right direction that would be helpful -what is happening with my Jellyfin - when I stop a movie using HT5 I get an error message pop up on the bottom of the screen saying

'Oops! Something went wrong, a crash report was sent to your Jellyfin server'

Never got this on my Z1000pro this has only happened since updating to the 3000pro - wondering if anyone has had this
