Hello everyone. I reported the issue directly to Eversolo service, hoping they would send me a replacement power supply and I wouldn't have to part with the entire device.

    Content of the report:
    25.03.2026 - OPEN

    Dear Eversolo Support Team,
I am writing to report a technical issue with my Eversolo DMP-A6 Gen 2 (Serial Number: 800A805E0D61).
The device emits a high-pitched, audible noise (coil whine) whenever it is in standby mode. This noise is persistent and clearly audible in a quiet room, which significantly impacts the user experience of this high-quality streamer.
I am aware that this issue has been recognized as a known hardware characteristic in some early production batches and that a revised, silent power supply module is available.
As I have experience with electronics, I would like to request the second service option: sending a replacement Linear Power Supply module directly to my address for self-installation (DIY replacement). This would be much more convenient for me than shipping the entire unit back to a service center.
Please find the following documents attached:

A photo of the serial number sticker on the back of the device.
A copy of my proof of purchase (invoice/receipt).
A short video clip where the high-pitched noise in standby mode can be heard.

    Also:

Please let me know if you need any further information to process this request and ship the replacement part.
Thank you in advance for your assistance.

    Best regards....

The report has been accepted by Eversolo. The power supply has been delivered.

Hi I must say I never seen or actually witnessed anything Like this, it appears to give off some type of oscillation feed back within one of the capacitors in circuitry well, it certainly is repairable and I must say or admit streamers are somewhat new to me other than basic electronics layout. I wish you the best of luck. I’m certain you’ll get it rectified,

Please have a nice day ;-)

That is most certainly very audibly noticeable. If I recall correctly this isn't the only unit to have this unusual problem. There was another post (I'll try to find it and link it here) that had a very similar problem. :(

EDIT: Found the post I was looking for by @Dude It can be found here - https://forum.zidoo.tv/index.php?th...your-case-here-only.101233/page-3#post-268328

My A6 Gen2 has just failed after 8months.

I have contacted the reseller here in Australia, they apparently have not heard of any power supply related issues with the A6 Gen2 units. Regardless, they have told me it is within the 12months warranty period. I need to deliver it to the reseller who will then forward the unit onto their Australian service agent. My concern is they may just replace like for like with regards the PS and I may experience a similar issue down the track.

With regards Kim's post above, I have photographed the label on the unit, and both boxes the A6 came with. None of the labels list the MAC address. I was going to forward the details of my unit to Eversolo support in case they need to contact the Australian service agent, or the service agent needs to contact Eversolo.

How can I find the MAC address as the unit won't power on?

    Yes, it can help you.
If the label seems different with what I show you, you can send a photo to me for a check.

Before purchasing, how can I verify via serial number whether it's an improved version with an improved power supply? Or are faulty power supplies still being delivered even from the new series?
    Thank you

Hello, the announcement is in this thread: https://forum.zidoo.tv/index.php?th...oduction-dmp-a6-gen2-units-discussion.101279/
    "Note on affected units:
    1. The only production batch that might have been impacted was in February 2025.
    2. All currently sold A6 GEN 2 units and other Eversolo models are unaffected."

Hello All, My DMP-A6 Gen 2 unit just failed, I purchased it in May 2025 so I likely got an older unit. I've emailed on the Eversolo website, but I'll post here too. I'm an avid DIY audiophile who has built a lot of amps, pre-amps, dacs etc. so at least I know what is broken now and can always rebuild the power supply I've got if I can't get them to send me a new one.

Individual cases may be reported here with:
    - Date and a short description of the action taken for the warranty claim:
So far I've emailed Eversolo on the support website on April 18th 2026 and uploaded my proof of purchase from Sky by Gramophone in the US, along with my serial number (800A805E12D4). I can't get to the MAC ID since the unit won't power on.

    - Date and follow-up steps taken -
In process, I will email Sky monday and check back here.

    ******UPDATE******

Just wanted to post a (delayed) update.

As was suggested, I was contacted shortly after Chinese New Years, and after a few exchanges (and it taking me awhile to find my paperwork), I was shipped a replacement power supply at no cost.

It took about 10-15 minutes in total to change the PS out. Those little screws are tricky.

Powered up immediately and all functions appear to to be working fine.

    Thank You!

Hello the folks at EVERSOLO are very aware of the remainder of any or all information. All you really need is the model, serial number , along with your proof of purchase. The company is well aware within the remainder of the units specifications. It’s all good
Very best of luck to you on that ,

please have a wonderful week :)

Today my unit started to behave erratically. It receives power and the knob lights up but upon trying to turn it on completely, it starts switching on/off/on/off in a constant loop with an audible click.

Model: DMP-A6 Master Edition Gen 2
    Purchase date: 18.05.2025
    Dealer: justhifi.de

So far I have not taken any further action. What should I do next? Should I post a photo with the label here? There is a 2-year-warranty in Germany, but if I send the unit out there now it might take a long while to be replaced.

Update: Just submitted my case to Eversolo After Sales Support.

Just an update. My unit was shipped back. Eversolo quickly reimbursed me for shipping and sent out a replacement unit. I had a very positive experience with getting support. Thank You Eversolo!

No, it is pretty much the same problem except that the unit can only enter power saving mode but not turn on fully. The hint is in the audible clicking of the power relay. No reset/recovery is possible, when I press the recovery button the device just bypasses power save mode and starts clicking on/off immediately. Problem stays the same when I take out the SSD.
