Hmm, a bit late, keeping in mind the February batch... but still could be.

I’d be a bit "cautious" about the February batch. After all, there was at least one case involving a purchase made in January, too. But naturally, February does seem "highly suspect."

Updated the main post as after more than a year new cases still keep being reported. I feel in fact a recall would have been a better procdure, but OK it is done like it has been done.

    Greetings all!
I purchased my unit from a friend. He just informed me that the warranty ended 16 days ago. I absolutely LOVE my Eversolo and have been telling everyone I know how great it is!

You can imagine my disappointment, even dismay when my unit started turning on and off randomly. Since I got it, I never used the power switch on the back. I unplugged the power cable and let it sit overnight.

Upon waking, the first thing I did was plug it in and power it up. It did exactly the same thing it had last night, so I called my friend.

Whether under warranty or not, I need to get this fixed in a timely manner. Until then, I’m back to my Bluetooth speaker and headphones : /

As a follow up to the last post…
I purchased mine because my friend upgraded and got a more expensive Eversolo. I don’t know which model, but it’s got a phono preamp.

He is sold on the Eversolo brand. I’m sure he’s now keeping his fingers crossed that his more expensive unit will not fail. I also, LOVED the product until it failed.

I am hoping both of us will be able to enjoy listening to our Eversolos for a long, long time. I will keep y’all posted as things develop. Thanks for reading!

PS - from reading other posts about loudly audible clicks and so forth, I’m afraid my issue may not just be the power supply. If the motherboard needs to replaced, I’m gonna be really bummed. Especially, if it is not going to be covered by some sort of warranty situation.

    Hi Mike,

Sorry to read your newly acquired DMP-A6 Gen2 unit has issues. The PSU has two relays on the board. These are most likely the random clicks you are hearing. The mainboard does have relays but these only operate when you switch outputs, so unless it is randomly switching outlets whilst in use which you can confirm from the screen or the app then I don't think this is the issue.

Now back to the PSU. This PSU uses automatic mains supply voltage detection and switching. The relays on the PSU board perform this function. If when powering up via the switch on the back of the unit as opposed to using the knob on the front, remote control or via the app, the unit detects the mains voltage and tries to determine if it is a 110/120v supply or 220/240v supply. The comparator circuit then switches the primary windings of the 35VA main toroidal transformer to match either 110/120v or 22/240v depending on the incoming mains voltage using the relay contacts on the PSU board. In North America it will be expecting 110/120v. There's a 12v universal mains input voltage (100 - 240v) switch-mode module installed on the underside of the PSU board which (depending on the actual module installed) is prone to failure. The affected modules are manufactured by TransFar. The modules bearing the eversolo markings don't seem to be the problem. Now of course diagnosis by proxy is a bit hit and miss so before pointing the finger at any specific part or board all I can suggest is to have the unit professionally diagnosed by a technician familiar with the DMP-A6 Gen2 units. For future reference IMPO there is no advantage of frequently unplugging the power cable from the back of the unit unless you are in an area that is prone to lightning strikes on your power line. The constant unplugging and plugging back in can lead to fracturing of the solder joints on the PSU board and this will lead to intermittent faults and eventual complete failure over time. Leave it plugged in with the power switched on if you are a regular user of the unit. If the units isn't used frequently then maybe consider switching it off with either the switch on the back of the unit or unplugging the power cable from the wall outlet instead after the unit has been soft powered down from the front panel knob, via the remote or the app.

    Hello Alan!!!
I don’t have time to read your post in detail now, but… WOW! Thank you so very much for the info! I did read long enough to see that my issue will be fixed by replacing the power supply only. That is a relief. I’m reasonably sure I’ll find the info I need in your generous post

    Agree. Thank you, Alan.
No worries, the power issues on A6 Gen 2 have 2-years warranty.

    Thanks again Alan!
I’m guessing your proxy diagnosis is spot on. That is a relief. I will contact Eversole’s customer support and ask them how best to proceed.

Without question, I want to acquire the stock power supply from Eversolo. I live in Portland, Oregon. Would you recommend finding a competent tech locally or sending my unit back to the factory?

In a past life, I was a luthier and recording studio owner and engineer. I’m handy with a soldering iron. I’ve installed tons of electronics in electric and acoustic guitars (small circuit boards). Your advice about not plugging and unplugging the power cord from the wall instead of the unit is very wise!

Is this perhaps something I can tackle on my own? I don’t have an oscilloscope to run diagnostics after installation, should that be a necessary step. Thanks in advance for your thoughtful reply

    Hi Mike,

Unfortunately, I don't reside in the USA so I can't make any recommendations as to a good repairer. I'm in Australia (down under).
Swapping the PSU is easy provided a bit of care is exercised. All you need is a cross tipped screwdriver (preferably a JIS) but a Philips or Posidrive will suffice. No test equipment is required unless you want to confirm the voltages in which case an inexpensive digital multimeter is all that is needed. Quite a number of forum members have done the transplant with success. The only advice is to support the front panel during the process so as not to damage the ribbon cable from the mainboard to the display.

Hi Mike , I just happened to see your post, their our a few streamer speciality shops here in the USA, Their is one gentleman I have only heard some very interesting and informative comments about on Facebook , I am unaware as I’m not a member of Facebook never was, no particular interest or desire personally speaking. However , A buddy of mine had alerted me to the following information, how helpful it might be to yourself naturally i would retain or absolutely have no knowledge, I thought it might be helpful to you in accordance with your post or comment, again from what I hear, and what I am told there are supposedly a few very knowledgeable and good streamer techs on Facebook in which I stated I would have no idea other than what was told and forwarded to me. Very best of luck to you.

please have an enjoyable week :)

Please don't forget to have the unit professionally diagnosed offline. If the issue is clear and you want to replace it on your own, our support team will send you a demonstration video.

    Hi @Zidoo Support-Kim,
My DMP A6 Gen 2 won't power up as of this morning. I didn't use it for about 7 days and looks like the same power supply issue from the early batch as I ordered in on May 31, 2025 through Amazon. I've reached out to the seller regarding the issue.

    Model: Eversolo DMP-A6 Gen 2 + 1.5.75
Visuals: Unit won't power on. Light ring around power/volume knob no longer illuminated. No ethernet lights blinking on rear.
Steps: Tried turning off master power switch off and back on. Switched to a different power outlet as well.

I’ve been using my A6 Gen 2 for about 13 months. It had very light use until the beginning of May as my company modified my position to be full-time remote. I’ve been using my A6 every day for at least 4 hours a day. The PSU went out when I wasn’t even using it. I’m on vacation and went in my office this morning to turn the unit on and the PSU is dead. I contacted the seller that I purchased it through on Amazon. They have submitted my form to Forte. Waiting to hear back from them. Looks like the power supply is a simple board replacement. I’ve built several PCs and can probably do it myself. I’ll ship it if that’s how they want to proceed. I tried to go through Amazon to contact the Seller and got nowhere. I called the seller’s customer service number and they were very helpful. They had my receipt on their system. I also provided them with the email from Zidoo Support as I inquired last fall and support confirmed the warranty was 2 years and would transfer to the next owner if I sold the unit.

It is unwise to put serial numbers on the www/social media aka publicly

    Goodluck with the broken device.

Thanks for the heads up. Serial number removed.

I should have used better common sense. Whenever I photograph equipment I’m selling, I blur the serial number. Lol.

My Eversolo DMP Gen 2 died a few days ago. It was 14 months old.. I was wondering what could be done.. I paid over $800 for it and it should have lasted longer.

It's most likely the power supply. Eversolo has extended the warranty on the power supply for this model to 2 years as there was a bad batch of power supplies last year. Mine is 13 months old and died as well. I contacted the vendor I purchased from since I just discovered it today. Waiting for instructions from them. I paid the full retail of $859 for mine.

Hey Charles, yes bummer certain situations you can almost guarantee, however if your most certain that it is the power supply, there are a couple very good aftermarket power supplies that are available for that unit that are somewhat very reasonable in cost. naturally there’s no way for me to be positive or certain, but that’s most likely probably the situation. just speaking personally for myself I believe that’s most likely the road that I would travel down. I hate to see someone throw good money after bad , but if I could actually verify in certainty that it was indeed the power supply in my opinion, I believe it will most likely perhaps be your best bet at the present time very best of luck to you with that, have a nice week :)
