PlexAmp for Android and iPad does not recognize DMP-A6 as a network player.
Is it possible to make a fix so that the Plexamp application installed on a PC, smartphone or iPad sees the DMP-A6 on the network as a player? Currently, when I run the Plexamp app on my smartphone, it doesn't see the DMP-A6. I'm not talking about Plex via the Eversolo app, because that's a difference.

 

No. But you can install Plexamp on the Eversolo. there isn't a Cast option for you. Install and login to Plexamp on the DMP-A6 and you get full Plexamp features.

 

When using Plexamp on the Eversolo, it does however always upsample to 192 kHz. It would be good if it used the EOS.

 

Unfortunately, you are wrong. The Plexamp app for eversolo is installed and has limited capabilities. For example, it doesn't play from a Tidal source. I want the Plexamp application installed, for example, on my computer. computer or smartphone to view the DMP-A6 as a player. Is it so difficult to understand? Check it out for yourself. Install a Plex server on your computer and the Plex for PC or Plexamp app on your smartphone and you won't see your DMP-A6 as a player on your local network. This happens for example when I use Roon. After running Roon Remote on my smartphone, I can see the DMP-A6 on the local network, and the smartphone with the ROOn remote serves as a remote control to play music on the DMP-A6. Then there will be full Plexamp functionality.

 

I understand that the DMP-A6 is new, great, and has many shortcomings. I wrote this post just to draw attention to a possible improvement in Plex performance. I respect the creators of Eversolo and thank them for their hard work to make DMP work as best as possible. It seems like making Plexamp work better would be a big step forward. It turns out that Plex has similar functions and operation to Roon and costs 6 times less. The condition is that in the Plex application for PC or Plexamp for smartphone DMP can be seen as a player in the local network. There are probably other aspects that need to be improved, but I don't know about them. I'm calmly waiting, maybe something in this matter will be improved or improved, just like with Roon.

 

I'm also surprised by the fact that none of the DMP users commenting here know how Roon works with DMP.

Maybe you think you understand Roon but you don't. Roon endpoint function is baked into DMP-A6 for support. Understand Plexamp works if installed on both DMP and phone too? You must install Plexamp app directly to DMP-A6 and it can advertise as player. If Roon not baked into DMP it would also not work. I have full support. I don't know what more you need. You can see on the images.

 

And yes, it is sad it can't support EOS. :/

 

The situation is that the Plexamp application on the smartphone and PC does not see DMP as a player in the local network, so the "play on DMP" command cannot be issued. Don't prove to me something that doesn't exist.

 

The screenshot shows only two players: pixel 7 pro and Chromecast, DMP is not on this list. And that's what I mean. In the Roon remote application you can see the DMP player as in the screenshot

I am not launching Plex. I have Plexamp installed to DMP-A6. It is advertised as player. But you fail to understand what I say. I don't have Plex launched. I have Plexamp installed. Do you not see it says "Cast" on your other device? DMP-A6 doesn't have Chromecast. You must use Plexamp in DMP-A6. Maybe you don't know how to install Plexamp inside DMP-A6? I feel you keep missing my point? I turn on DMP-A6 and I can see as Plex endpoint because I installed Plexamp.

Oh look?! I can even see DMP-A6 on my Windows 10 PC as Plexamp endpoint? WTF?! How can it be possible?! Please listen to me. It is possible. But you must make it possible first. You can stream to DMP-A6 FROM your smartphone without need of Eversolo app.
