Hello friends. I'm a long time user of PlexToZidoo and can't stress enough how thankful I am to bowlingbeeg for this project. It's been a game changer for Zidoo owners.

That said, I moved away from Plex a while back and have been using Jellyfin on all my devices except my Z9X Pro, since there was no way to get native player playback with full hardware decoding the way PlexToZidoo and ZidooPlexMod made possible. Until now.

I've forked PlexToZidoo and built JellyfinToZidoo. Same concept, adapted for the Jellyfin ecosystem with some additional features like Up Next between episodes, intro/credit skip via the Intro Skipper plugin and more!

Not looking to hijack this thread at all, just wanted to share since I know there are others here in the same boat. Full details and releases are on GitHub: https://github.com/magnetgrouplabs/JellyfinToZidoo

Thanks again to bowlingbeeg and all the PlexToZidoo contributors. This wouldn't exist without their work.

At some point I plan to. I'm just really busy right now so don't have time. I also see that there was a small regression that was already found in the stable build so hopefully by the time I get around to doing this he will release an updated stable.

Had some unexpected free time today so was able to push out a ZidooPlexMod update to 1.3.19_zidoo. Haven't really had time to do much testing so let me know if you have issues. This pulls in the PM4K 1.3.19 stable(plus a fix for the one regression found so far).

Also, confirming that works well on my end. Appreciate the quick turnaround with the update.

    Hello,

Just bought a UHD8000 and I'm thinking I may have made a mistake in doing so.
Zidoo seems to be removing references to this device across their site.
That said, I've been trying to find the updated files being discussed here so I can test integration of my existing plex server.
Any direction you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

Did you follow the instructions in the first post of this thread?

See, when you say obvious things, it seems obvious, but... When I visited post 1, I clicked through to the gits, saw the age and dismissed it as outdated - I should have given it a closer look. Apologies for being dense.

If I may, I've got another, somewhat tangential question; I'm having a hard time getting what I consider good output from the player. I am not just playing BDRips or Remuxed files - I've got twenty years of digital content from VOB's, mp4's, mkv's et al. Even Avatar 2, a 100GB file looks washed out and grainy. The menu images look low res and the trailers seem to be 480p they're so bad.

Now, I've gone through and have been making iterative improvements - older files in particular are starting to look better but the new files still look mediocre at best. In truth, I didn't expect there to be such an immediate downgrade from even the AppleTV Plex App streaming via SMB.

Now, I'm not trying to slide a thread - so I'll leave it at that. I've just been approaching the problem from the perspective of a raw output versus an algorithmically enhanced output - true or not. I've just not experienced video output quality so poor from VLC, MPC, or AppleTV and I'm a little concerned. Is this a skill issue or is the Zidoo player just not that good?

I have not had that experience with my Z9X and Z9X Pro. Did you follow the recommendations in the forum? https://forum.zidoo.tv/index.php?forums/hdd-8k-media-player-aml-s928x.63/

@bowlingbeeg @Anthonymkz I know you are both busy, but do either of you, or anyone else, have time/intrest to port zidooplexmod to work with Plezy, the new 3rd party plex app? Thanks for considering. :) I’d do it myself, but I couldn’t code my way out of a shoebox.

Sorry, I haven't actually used my Zidoo in almost 2 years. So I plan on maintaining this project but not looking to expand into a new one.

Thank you for replying. I totally understand, but it was worth a shot, no?

I am deeply grateful for your work and continued maintenance and support.
