Hello, I have a Z9X Pro and now I bought a Z3000 Pro. Both are playing TrueHD but only if I'm playing the BD image. If I export the TrueHD from the BD, it result a .thd file, which is not recognized by the music player. I export it with DVDAudio Extractor but I don't think it's relevant. If I'm doing the same with .dts, I have no issues. Do you have any idea about a solution? BTW, i found TrueHD better than DTS. Many thanks for your time, Catalin
rip the disk (or disk iso/folder) with MakeMKV, that will pull the Audio and any other tracks, plus the chapter information and put it into an MKV file, like you would to remux a film. Then use MMH (Music Media Helper) Extract audio from MKV/MKA function to extract and split the chapters into tracks of TrueHD (and Atmos if present) into kodi compatable M4A files. there is also a compatable tagger in that package that can add tags and album art for the files so Kodi can manage them like regular music Albums. I've ripped a dozen Bluray Music disks this way, with surround and Atmos, and even some live albums I wanted split into audio only tracks.
only remaining issue is for some reason the zidoo music player app still doesnt like these files, but they work perfectly with kodi/zdmc apart from the existing bug that requires a stop/play occasionally to kick it into bitstreaming as it falls back to software decoding and playback in stereo seemingly randomly when selecting a track, but once it's playing in surround, it will play the whole album seamlessly. Aparently the newer boxes are a bit better at that but still not perfect. I gave up using the zidoo for surround music and use one of my Shield Pro's for that, it always works perfectly.
