Hi all, I don't currently own a Zidoo device yet, so I need some advice before I buy: I have a handful of old interactive DVD titles (quizzes, interactive movies, arcade games such as Dragon's Lair) that I've converted to ISO and want to play from a SMB share via a Zidoo player. Obviously, with these titles, the branching DVD menu structure must remain intact. The question no one has been able to answer for me so far: How do Zidoo players handle what I call "overlay hijacking" during DVD ISO playback? To illustrate what I mean, let's go with Dragon's Lair as an example: Let's say I'm using a classic old DVD player: If I press "left" or "right" or "up" or "down" or "enter" while the game doesn't expect it, the DVD player will show a small prohibition symbol (red circle with a slash) to show me that this is not a valid option at this point. However, when I use a software player (like KODI, PowerDVD or VLC), this invariably happens: If I press "left" while the game doesn't expect it, playback skips back a few seconds and the player shows its own navigation overlay. If I press "right", playback will skip forward. If I press "down" or "up", depending on the player, volume may go up or down, or the navigation overlay will pop up. If I press "enter", same problem. You get my point, hopefully: The game becomes effectively unplayable. This is exactly what I don't want. I need a media player that will handle playback of a DVD ISO image the same way a classic DVD player does. How is this handled with Zidoo players? And in case they are able to play the ISOs like a "real" DVD player: Which of the current models is the most affordable while still meeting these requirements? (I don't even need blu-Ray menu compatibility, DVD will do just fine) Thank you!
