    The latest stable version is 2.3.10 but my player is on 2.2.96. However, an online check indicates I have latest version. Do I have to install via USB or is there a way to get it via OTA?

    have u checked the release note? if there is a fix or enhancement that you need, by all means but dont be a compulsive latest greatest firmware upgrader. there have been mixed feedbacks on 2.3.10. totally up to u of course.

    And what will this show us? The firmware development of Zidoo is a big disaster. Only some release candidates which sometimes bring more problems than improvements, big problems still not fixed. Look when the last official update for example for the Z10 was released? More than 4 month ago. And their support in this forum is worth a shit. Only some fanboys like for example Nice Monkey or Markswift try to help. From Zidoo comes nothing. And some make a party when a Zidoo guy talks about a upcoming release of a new HT3 patchwork in a few month. Even smaller companies like Ugoos or Beelink do a much better work than a highprice company like Zidoo!

    I wouldn't call @Nice Monkey or @Markswift2003 fanboys - just helpful and knowledgeable. Although I do agree ZIdoos latest few releases have been poor. We've seen some nice enhancements to HT2 but it's been ages since a decent firmware

    its because there are new Models coming very soon and new H.T.v3 on the horizon and new firmware is available but not quite just yet .

    In my eyes fanboy was not written with a negative touch. Just young men who are very enthusiastic about and interested in the players of Zidoo. Actually the task of Zidoo and not their customers.

    @DELUCAS

    One excuse after the other. There are issues older than 16 month. I can not sell new models and forget the customers who already bought a player with mistakes.

    Tell me why they are not able to moderate a forum like this in a professional way without Viagra ads and WITH employees helping their customers? As you can see on their homepage more than 60 R&D engineers and noone is responsible for their customers? Look in the HT and Musicplayer threads. Both programs have problems without end and they start a new version which will be delivered as banana ware which ripens at the customer site.
    The well known usb3 problems which they created themselves is not solved for more than 16 month now. ZDMC was a big point for a lot of users to buy a Zidoo.. Why they stopped the development? It is so hard to make a few adjustments to satisfy their customers?

    Look at the homepage and start to laugh when they say "Focusing on user experience and feedback, provide better solutions and technical support, create greater value for our customers, all of these are our pursuit."

    Thanks for young men! I am 67 years old to be honest. :D
    But still feeling young and playing with toys for boys. :p

    To answer one question. Zidoo must make choices. Supporting KODI/XBMC/ZDMC gives a negative product status which does not allow them to add VOD services, Android TV etc.

    The reason KODI is facilitating illegal plugins. Supporting these plugins specifically even caused some Zidoo resellers to be pursued in The Netherlands legally. They even had to close their very popular webshop.

    Why? Were they afraid of competition?

    If your not happy with the Zidoo product and lack of support for ZDMC 17.5 , 17,6 ,17,8 etc etc as it will never end
    Why not sell your Zidoo media boxes and swap over to Dune who seem to tick all your boxes .

    Make sense and prob end up stressing you out less . = Result

    Why should i make a loss only why a greedy manufacturer minimizes his quality of service? What will change then? Nothing. But i think new customers should be informed what they get if they buy a Zidoo. Only pressure will maybe change their doing. At the first look a good piece of hardware and meanwhile a miserabel service behind that is not worth to mention it. As far as I'm concerned i meanwhile have several other players but i will not stop until Zidoo keep their promise to deliver a stable new firmware which solves the usb3 bug! HT2/3 and Music Player do not interest me much. I bought a hardware with 2 USB3 ports. Zidoo, make them work properly!

    You did mention and state that you dont have the usb 3 issue on latest beta firmware 2.3.17 ?

    are you know retracting that statement now ?

    if you sell your media box they will still fetch a good price so not much of a loss there .

    @DELUCAS

    I never stated that the usb3 problem has gone. Right is that the problem appears not so often than before. With 2.3.17 only 1-3 times a day, with older firmware 1-3 times a movie. Why are you concentrating on me and not on the bad service of Zidoo? Strange that you keep silence in relation to their support. You feel that this forum is well moderated and the technicians of Zidoo do a good job here and help their customers? You really notice a good interaction between Zidoo and their community here? Or a you just trying to defend Zidoo because you belong to them or sell their products? Questions over questions ...

    lol belong to them no .
    I know for a fact that they very very rarely interact on here they NEVER have from the beginining so ive excepted that it is there way of how they run things ........
    Just except it !!

    I know how they work i just except it and move on .............
    I have .
    your not going to change there rules because you want them to .

    Agree Spam on here does not help .

    There are new products coming in the pipeline
    H.T.V3.0 on the horizon which ALL media players should get and new firmware updates
    Yes there has been a delay in firmware but at least its coming .

    there is a thing called Covid - 19 going round the world at the moment and it seems to have effected everything and everyone .

    or do you think that does not apply ?

    Dune are now the same. They released the Dune HD Pro 4K with firmware was no better than alpha. Over the last few years there have been improvements but it is still plagued with many issues. They are now moving on to new boxes. Zidoo has been more or less the same the Z9S. They have improved the box but again its still plagued with issues and guess what - they are moving on to new devices.

    Moral is that these companies are all the same. They will try to improve the firmware but it gets to a point where they either can't or won't and move on. I get the feeling that both the Dune HD Pro 4K and the Zidoo Z9S have reached that stage.
