May I ask what the A10 will provide over and above my UHD8000 ? I appreciate Video content Streaming will be superior but the UHD8000 is excellent when it comes to Audio Streaming. Thanks
Something has changed (not on the measurements) since 2019 but it's the technology that runs, you know... anyway the measurements posted are perfectly reliable in steady state, so for that type of signal applied no differences emerge We don't know what would happen in a dynamic regime, i.e. with the use of signals that vary the spectrum over time Personally I would have used white noise. Having said all that... did you see that Paul from PS audio didn't get away with it? Just in the forums lots of chatter and without a badge. Take care
- The A10 is an (Stereo) Audio Player only (some video content may be shown during audio play with some audios streaming services). The UHD3000 has its limits but will do a job for real Video Streaming Services. - The DAC build of A10 is superior for all main aspects to the one of UHD8000. The SQ difference won't be huge as the total result but will be audible for sure. - The FW functionality of the Music Players will be close to identical as these will share the same code/updates mostly. - The Room Correction, subwoofer driving of A10 is unique and to be valued by its own. - The UHD8000 will also play MCH Music sources which A10 most likely does not offer at all. In fact think they will make up a perfect pair of players. I mostly use my DMP-A6 (music) and my Z9X 8K (movies) for now as a pair. The DMP-A6 doing MCH is relevant despite all my other players being able to do that too as I am switching between 2CH albums and MCH albums often (next to 2CH/MCH SACD)
UHD8000 is only compatible with some Video Streaming Services or only partially. Some won't offer UHD or Atmos and others like Netflix won't work at all. A list is kept what works by me.
Ok I fully understand and agree with what you say. But will the A10 do better with Video Streaming or not at all?
I realise you haven’t quite grasped the ‘straight wire with gain’ concept. Read and learn, there is also an understanding digital measurements video, which I believe has already been linked to. https://www.audiosciencereview.com/...lo-dmp-a8-balanced-streamer-dac-review.55826/ Keith
The DMP-A10 is just an audio player and not a video player. You can only listen to music and that's it. It doesn't even make sense to make a comparison between the UHD8000 and the DMP-A10, they are two completely different machines designed to do different things. As for audio quality, it is obvious that the DMP-A10 is superior and has a better dac than the UHD8000, it would be strange if it were the other way around. It all depends on the use you have to make of it and your configuration. For example, I would take the DMP-A10 and connect it directly to some power amplifiers using its excellent PRE section and R2R volume. If instead you have an integrated amplifier and an external dac, the audio streamer is only useful as a transport and at that point it makes no sense to buy the DMP-A8 or the DMP-A10. For transport only you can buy the DMP-A6 and that's fine or even the UHD8000 like I do
********************************************* I just came across some interesting information. I found out why the same 4 people (probably the same person) spend their whole day on the forums and are trying to push us to ASR’s website (while also trolling the Eversolo community). I found some things weird about their posts: Why can’t they just tell us the information? Why is it so important that we read the information from ASR’s website? Why can’t they explain anything themselves? Why can’t they give a good answer to any follow-up questions? Why do they all say the exact same things no matter which forum you visit? Why can’t you find a second source for any of the information that they provide? Why do they keep repeating the exact same things? So I looked into it further. Apparently, Amir from ASR works with a huge Chinese Audio consortium that basically builds everything from Topping to SMSL, but guess who it doesn’t include? That is right, Eversolo. These trolls are part of a disinformation campaign meant to convince you that the cheap cookie-cutter “Ch-Fi” they are pedaling is just as good as anything else on the market. Anybody who has actually compared one of these cookie-cutter items to any higher-end items, they know that this is not true. Higher-end items can and in fact do sound better. ****************************************
I think what he is trying to say is that Amir is eating Eversolo's dogs and cats. They are stealing them away at night and cooking them up all day, then eating them.
Can anyone confirm the price on this thing? I've read it will be over $3600! Is that right? I thought it was being announced today but there is scant mention of it on the "interwebs." Me thinks my A8 shall be very happy having a nice home here for many years to come.
