New version v1.3.20 for DMP-A6/DMP-A8 release

I use Tidal and don't have any issues.
I did have a similar problem with Spotify which was fixed with a factory reset.

no experiments with NAA (HQplayer) is a well known protocol that enables to be used on one of most appreciated software DSP on the market with plenty of dithering mechanism to manipulate source sound like Eversolo EOS Audio Engine but on huge choose that cannot be done inside DMP.

As far as I know is like roonBridge software installed to make roon works

I haven't tried either. There was no newer firmware for the DMP-A6. In the last one, the letter Q was added, I don't know what it means, maybe Q as quality ;-)

XML-File opens, search for dmp-a8 (18 strings found, the latest firmware now -> DMP-A8_R_v1.3.30_202409292026_ota-package.zip)

And I just checked the update guide for DMP-A6, but I haven't done it yet (I'm still on version 1.2.50, until now once OTA) :
Upload to USB Stick (recommended FAT32), not unzipped, but zipped as is! Insert into USB A -OTG (I think the top connector). Then Settings, Version, USB Update.

 

Eversolo just tease 1.3.80 will come soon.

 

I think it will include the new VU meter design they showed for the DMP-A10. Seems to suggest at least that feature will hit the other streamers. Wonder what else is in the update!

 

The VU meters, that’s funny , sorry no pun intended
I have the A8, I made this statement several times on this board sold my HIFI rose and kept the A8.
I was fortunate enough to be able to have both units here at the same time, and after a week or so of evaluation between myself and two other guys old heads, we grew up in the late 60s or early 70s, as I stayed at several times our findings in final conclusion came down to , the A8, is not or in no way better than the Rose but we all agreed on it’s at least 90%
So off the ROSE Went , and I saved a lot of money

but getting back to the VU meters I guess I can see your excitement in them, but they’re only there for aesthetic purposes and serve no real useful purpose personally speaking just in my own opinion I wouldn’t care if they delete it the view meters, where are my interest? Lie is in these upgrades and future firmware upgrades. How much better are you making the UNIT sound ?

By the way, from my understanding, the only VU meters that are put on equipment that are of any real use would be the VU meters on McIntosh equipment the VU meters on Accuphase equipment and absolutely any type of REEL TO REEL recording. I really like the A8, but there’s a lot of gingerbread and bells and whistles on the unit that to me just speaking for myself again serve no real useful purpose

but I will say this, the A8 is almost an unbeatable unit for the cost, speaking strictly a value for dollar, and that’s what our decision was based upon and that is the reason the much more expensive unit went off to another land, but I can definitely see your point they do make the unit look all that and they are kind of cool to sit there and watch them bounce around, but that’s all they’re doing. There’s no useful purpose for them, but it was a hell of a good idea , May you have many hours of enjoyment and happy listening and remember the above is just solely my opinion , ok enjoy your rig

p/s just to switch gears for a moment from what I can see about the new released unit the DMP -A 10
In my opinion, probably other than the power supply and having an owning many ESS sDSC’s - from companies like my MYTEK ect , others I am pretty familiar with the sound of those, but we all know it’s not so much the chip that’s incorporated. It’s how it’s incorporated and integrated into the unit as specific design varies from manufacture to manufacturer.

I kind of like the AKM DAC that’s in the A8, in my opinion, with other Dacs , i’m really enjoying the AKM for a change, as far as the power supply and galvanic isolation and knows underlying areas, I can easily incorporate all of that on my A8 , and I believe I could probably do it better especially using selective outboard devices, which are really no big deal to incorporate. I see no real value in the A-10 whatsoever especially with that unbelievable price increase. What do you think?
Crazy $$$$ now, how would you even start to make that comparison? I’d rather have my A8, The only thing that I cannot pass, his opinion upon is what it’s reliability and dependability and longevity will be in the foreseeable future will we Be on the outside, looking in ? Oh well, only time will absolutely tell i’m pretty optimistic in this particular area …..

Yep, sorry to say you’re absolutely correct but before BOSE , they were owned by Harmon Corp, after BOSE it will be somebody else who knows maybe you & me ?
We May have a chance of owning them I wouldn’t doubt it the way things are going in this country, and speaking of Bose they are also owned by somebody. if you research it, you’ll see exactly what I am saying. I don’t remember names at this time. I believe they used to call it a parent company they all come under an umbrella they all have major financial investors that probably don’t even own a stereo. All they want to know is see a lot of money on return investment just like you’re Eversolo, we are using their parent companies forum right now, which is
ZIDOO, and there’s another conglomerate over them and so on it really doesn’t make any difference who owns them they’re just sinking in financial distress and and very poor planning and management now looking for a way out because they priced themselves right out of business, I wasn’t being condescending VU meters that’s funny, but my Mac unit was built long long before Bose took control, i’ll tell you what I’ll make a board bet with you and I hope I’m very wrong. It’s kinda a shame what time stops for no one if memory serves me correct I think Mac themselves started producing extremely high Quality ,dependable equipment since around 1948 kind of right after World War II, And they fell on hard times again, just like countless others, Was quite a few of them, not even existing anymore , I get plenty of guys that ride me every time they see me cause I sold my HIFI rose and bought the Eversolo A8, but then they back off real fast when they realize guess what they all come from China with the exception of one, which I believe is Portugal or Korea, not a whole lot of difference to meI hope they keep up the excellent work cause I do believe that that’s where this is all headed, IDK we’ll find out shortly

You know they sell professional VU meters that you can purchase now I’m 100% serious you’re going to pay about $1000 and that would be for an intermediate pair . I actually, know people that own them but they’re the real deal. Well I hope they would be for that kind of cost ‍♂️That’s to funny , keep up your enthusiasm that’s a good thing
