That surprises me, so if it is fed a 4k signal it processes the signal down to 1080 whilst recording? Does it make any difference if the HDMI input is changed from 1.4 to 2.0 in the advanced settings?
The Z9S has never suffered from micro-stutters (ie. frame repeats due to over frame rate discrepancy), it has always played frame perfect from the initial release firmware.
Green screen problem is still there. Even worst, some of the files that used to be able to play cannot be played now. It's kind of screen freezed. I have to press stop to get out of freeze.
You'll always see chroma banding at 4K 8-bit 444 and 4K 12bit 422 due to 8-bit processing but there has never been banding on this box at 4K 10-bit 444 (the optimum mode for 4K) and 4K 12-bit 444.
hi mark, thx for the reply. I posted a similar question on avsforum. this might indeed be a source problem.
in my case, I got green screen every now and then on the main menu and always green screen n crash on a top gun m2ts. both have been addressed. I noticed b4, playing files on a usb drive rather than from the network could sometimes alleviate the green screen problem (not scientifically proven).

Before installing new version, Playing movies and copy files are bad. Sometimes is very slow. After installing this version, Playing movies and copy files are better but Play store and youtube can't be played. Could you help me please?
Firmware v2.1.30 is playing Movies better but Now I can't access to Google Play Store & can't play application that use Google Play Engine (like Youtube) . Help me Please !!!!!
Also on v2.1.30 now, and confirm the Green Screen bug! Certain m2ts video files (in my case the extra features on a Blu-ray ISO) are not playable repeatable, Zidoo instantly shows a green screen, than crashes and reboots. :-( Audio format is DTS-HDMA 2.0: ID : 4352 (0x1100) Menu ID : 1 (0x1) Format : DTS Format/Info : Digital Theater Systems Format profile : MA / Core Muxing mode : Stream extension Codec ID : 134 Duration : 3 min 49 s Bit rate mode : Variable / Constant Bit rate : Unknown / 384 kb/s Channel(s) : 2 channels Channel positions : Front: L R Sampling rate : 48.0 kHz Frame rate : 93.750 FPS (512 SPF) Bit depth : 16 bits Compression mode : Lossless / Lossy Video information: ID : 4113 (0x1011) Menu ID : 1 (0x1) Format : AVC Format/Info : Advanced Video Codec Format profile : High@L4.1 Format settings : CABAC / 3 Ref Frames Format settings, CABAC : Yes Format settings, RefFrames : 3 frames Codec ID : 27 Duration : 3 min 50 s Bit rate mode : Variable Nominal bit rate : 18.0 Mb/s Maximum bit rate : 22.0 Mb/s Width : 1 920 pixels Height : 1 080 pixels Display aspect ratio : 16:9 Frame rate : 24.000 FPS Standard : NTSC Color space : YUV Chroma subsampling : 4:2:0 Bit depth : 8 bits Scan type : Progressive Bits/(Pixel*Frame) : 0.362 Writing library : x264pro - Adobe CS Exporter Plug-in Encoding settings : cabac=1 / ref=4 / deblock=1:-1:-1 / analyse=0x3:0x113 / me=umh / subme=8 / psy=1 / psy_rd=1.00:0.15 / mixed_ref=1 / me_range=16 / chroma_me=1 / trellis=1 / 8x8dct=1 / cqm=0 / deadzone=21,11 / fast_pskip=1 / chroma_qp_offset=-3 / threads=12 / lookahead_threads=2 / sliced_threads=0 / slices=4 / nr=0 / decimate=1 / interlaced=0 / bluray_compat=1 / constrained_intra=0 / bframes=3 / b_pyramid=1 / b_adapt=2 / b_bias=0 / direct=3 / weightb=1 / open_gop=0 / weightp=1 / keyint=24 / keyint_min=1 / scenecut=40 / intra_refresh=0 / rc_lookahead=32 / rc=abr / mbtree=1 / bitrate=18000 / ratetol=1.0 / qcomp=0.60 / qpmin=0 / qpmax=69 / qpstep=4 / vbv_maxrate=22000 / vbv_bufsize=30000 / nal_hrd=vbr / ip_ratio=1.40 / aq=1:1.00 Color range : Limited Color primaries : BT.709 Transfer characteristics : BT.709 Matrix coefficients : BT.709 The unplayable videos all have DTS-HDMA 2.0 and frame rate 24.000. I feel your pain, all the movies I have green screen with have 7.1 aac audio, if I replace the 7.1 audio then they play fine, but I ain't doing that for all my 7.1 movies, currently using my X9S. Haven't got any DTS-HD MA 2.0 files to try currently, sorry. Come on Zidoo, sort this out, files that play fine on X9S but not on Z9S shouldn't be hard to fix.
