Clarification: A6 mounts ES9038Q2M while A10 mounts the brand new ES9039PRO there is a notable difference from the Sabre evolutionary point of view. If Eversolo chose Sabre, it did so because it believes it is the best component available to use in its TOP of the range device.,as it did for the OCXO clock for example.
The ESS chosen is a 8-channel DAC used for stereo. DNR is announced (XLR) as > 130dB but the specs are giving 132dB in 8-channel, 137dB in stereo and 140dB in mono mode. Are they using 2 ESS chips in mono mode or 1 ESS chip in Stereo mode (4+4)? Are they using the THD compensation fine-tuning (page 18/24)? A little sad they didn't take advantage of the 768kHz/DSD1024 full specs.
You're all right. I completely agree with you. I think in this case, "isolated USB" is a marketing ploy by the manufacturer.
Sorry, but what is the purpose of such permissions? After all, there are no official records of such permission. In any case, in large numbers.
It is galvanic isolation and it for sure may help with e.g. connecting desktop/tower PC's as those PSU's may have a floating voltage to earth above all if not plugged into an earthed socket. It is a single ESS chip in Stereo mode (4+4) mode. It is very debatable if 2x ESS chip in 8 channel mode actually would be sounding any better. It is fancier and more expensive to build for sure. Haha DSD1024 why not DSD4096? Looks a lot better to me! You may comment here: http://forum.zidoo.tv/index.php?thr...ther-knowhow-for-hifi-players-playback.86336/
Since the chipset allows it, it would have been nice to maximize the specs to the best of the inner parts?
I assume on the A-10 - unlike on the A8 - the analogue inputs are digitised in order apply eq? Can someone confirm this? Also, do volume control and balance functions work on the digital outputs?
Thank you. The lack of EQ and balance on analogue inputs was the reason I didn’t get the A8. The A-10 has this, but at double the price. If an upgraded A-8 with this feature is ever released, I would jump on it. Anyone know about volume and balance functions on the digital outputs?
I only have optical out connected but rarely use it. You can turn ‘passthrough’ off and control volume in 100 steps (0db to -100db) but it does not really do 100 steps. More like 15 (as was earlier the case when they did 0-15). Below -35db, you don’t really hear anything. I would have passthrough on and then control volume on ‘the other box’. EQ has volume balance up to 6db extra for left and right.
Does anyone know whether the pre-amp function within the Dmp-A10 likely to be a significant upgrade in quality compared with the pre-amp inside the Dmp-a8? Just as an experiment I tried the latter connected via HT bypass to my Hegel H390 amp but felt it was definitely a step down to the amps own preamp when used as an integrated. I am deliberating upgrading to a power amp and using an Eversolo as pre-amp but only if the preamp in the Dmp-A10 will be a marked improvement. Thanks in advance.
As far as I can see the pre-amp section of A8 and A10 are (mostly) the same. It only has more inputs and all running via the DSP if chosen to do so. Adding an extra pre-amp never can improve the SQ signal but obvious it can change the sound to become more to a listeners liking. Typical pre-amps have several analog and/or digital sound controls to achieve this. The A8 and A10 only have digital tone control but using that you should be able to create the effect of that Hegel H390 pre-amp stage. If you use any digital sound control (by DSP) on that Hegel then actually you are listening to the DAC output of that Hegel and not A8 analog anymore! As it has also a very good DAC you may like it that way better.
Hello everyone. Excuse me for my English. I am writing through an online translator. I have a question. Don't look at the price and advise me which Eversolo (8:10) is better? If you have money, which one would you prefer? I want to make a gift.
Sound quality can’t be any better ( because the A-8 is so good already) but tha A-10 does have some potentially worthwhile facilities. Keith
Why shouldn't the A10 sound better than the A8, it really makes no sense !!!, it has better clocks, it has a different dac chip, and I'm also fairly sure that everything has been done to improve it analogue part Here I personally think it is a shame that they have not made it completely discreet (without the use of op-amps) just like Gustard has done in many of their products
