... finally a pure streamer without a DAC section? But announced as a “all-in-one” streaming amplifier. Maybe an A8 with amp section?
It seems to me to read "STREAMING AMP play" just above the knob, so seemingly an all-in-one device. However, elsewhere I read about a potential new "T8" pure streamer device, without actual evidence anywhere though.
I don't feel Eversolo is in the market for cheaper variants like a streamer only. They definitely try to move up the chain. If you want a pure streamer you may get yourself a Zidoo Z9X 8K. with even HDMI Video.
Too much in too short a time. After a rapid rise, there is often a steep fall. Dangerous. But that's how marketing works. The entry with the DMP A6 was very good. The DMP A8 was the logical follow-up. With the DMP A10, the ascent to the Olympus of audiophile madness began. It's a shame that none of the devices are truly finished, and something new is already coming along. I think it's too much of a good thing.
Yes it could very well be possible. Correct me if my accuracy may be wrong, but if I remember correctly Not to long after the EVERSOLO A6 appeared the A6 Gold or master edition, followed very shortly afterward. I do realize we’re not talking about the exact same type of scenario, anything goes today business or no business? Get it while you can Business.IDK, I keep hearing of the A8 Gen 2 -?? One never knows today -Who’s betting on what ???
As long as all models use the same SOC and hence almost identical FW there is no problem with new models. Just more choice for customers, keep them coming.
Looks like there will be a Play version with a CD drive for playback and ripping. Will be interested to see more information about both units.
EVERSOLO play, huh Nice idea pretty cool UNIT, but there’s a little too much integration going on for me only for me , cd drive ect, nice Hope the CD Drive holds up , nice unit for a college kid or someone that has a very specific need party and entertainment purposes as long as everything stays operational nice Been already having enough problems In general, can you imagine this forum with that unit oh boy wowww
Very appealing solution for a minimalistic configuration. Very odd solution to have a side entry for the disk (I think it's an absolute first in this sector, and probably for a good reason...) and implement it with a caddy instead of a more sleek slot in alternative.
Definitely not a unit for closed-rack mount, uh? But with an all-in-one device, who needs a rack any more...?!?
Absolutely I guess I would have to agree with you a modern day receiver, and All in one unit like I had back in the late 60s and early 70s , what a way to reminisce about high school and hot rods. I’m good. I’ll keep the racks. I know your parents would approve I kind of miss the old days with basically my all in one device, it was definitely simpler and a lot cheaper !
(TEASING MODE /ON) Isn't the CD inserted on the wrong side on the picture? They will hardly read anything this way!
I am just wondering, what the approximate MSRP , will be , I believe it would be safe to say , $-6/-900.00 US. Hard to say at this point in Time, with so much transpiring, I have just viewed a CD only transport take a, 3/$.400.00 + jump overnight, not good, I am aware that some of these so called MSRP price increases have been increased just to increase for more profit margins, on all consumer goods or so i have been told , many times since the introduction of tariffs ect, From typical box pushers, shame , however just curious as to what the actual retail , MSRP will be at that particular point in time of the units release…?
The play units are just Eversolo answer to the very successful Wiim products just taken a step further. It is clear that there is a growing amount of music listeners who don't have the space and don't have cash for expensive separates. And also who don't care so much. Who use there phone for everything and just want to listen to some tunes in a reasonable quality and never come into forums. The unit without CD is €699 and with CD is €799 (read this on some hifi website)
That would be units without an expensive/fancy DAC being used and/or other simplifications by dropping some ports and a simpler chassis. There must be a market for these indeed. I do wonder about those 110W as I don't see any cooling openings at all. Must be peak power then? Use a dirt cheap external USB3 CD/DVD player with my DMP-A6 just for testing. Amazing to experience it produces exactly the same (or better) sound as any very expensive CD player from the past. That € 100 extra in fact is not the cheapest solution but looks better and operates more convenient.
This promo video may answer you question about cooling. I think for what it has it's reasonable not as expensive as an NAD C 700 but cheap enough with it's features to be considered. The Wiim amp pro comes to mind expect this has a touch screen.
Thanks' Claudia. It uses integral chassis cooling via a connected heatsink but that's it for cooling. It is not to be put in a cabinet as it needs a free airflow all around the box. Seems it claims a realistic 60W (at 8 ohm) per channel which should be adequate for the target use. AKM4493EQ is not a bad DAC chip. All in one AMP (TPA3255 chip which isn't shabby either) with Line In, Phono MM/MC Input and a HDMI ARC input for TV sound. Next SPDIF Optical + Coax inputs, SPDIF Coax output and yes a nicely integrated Subwoofer output. No HDMI or DAC outputs on these models apart from using USB. Neither a SSD slot, but using USB is always a good alternative as they got the 2 standard USB3 ports as on other models. One gets very nice small footprint AMP+streamer for these prices. Value/money ratio looks very good to me as it again uses the same FW functionality coupled to the touchscreen frontpanel or APP. I don't feel any secrets/details are still left to discover. Only the PSU remains unspecified but for sure is an universal Switched Mode 100V-240V range type. Confirmation is needed for including the HW based equalizer chip of A8/A10 supporting FIR room correction.
To be honest I wouldn't be expecting a lot on the back it's a small unit. I just see it as a posher version of the Wimm pro amp. It has a lot for an all in one unit. There is no adding storage like on the DMP-a6. https://darko.audio/2025/05/eversolos-play-for-the-mainstream/
