This has me tearing my hair out. New DMP-A6-gen2, set it up with analog RCA to an input on my receiver. Nothing, dead silence playing RadioParadise or AppleMusic streams. Switching the output to RCA or RCA/XLR made no difference, but selecting Opt/Coax, (and of course using a different coax PCM receiver input) did! This is not a solution, as this will not suffice for hires lossless, the whole point of this device - can't use those nice DACS! It's not the receiver analog input - I've been using it, and it continues to work with other audio gear. It's not the RCA cables either, I've swapped them and behavior does not change. I have tried settings like "XLR/RCA output - startup volume -5 db" "settings -> analog volume limit 0 db", "digital volume limit 0 db" even "settings -> volume passthrough mode ON" Nothing made my analog output happen. I have cranked the DMP to 0db and same for receiver. Nothing. Any ideas? Dead HW?
Here is the version information, as it came in the box: v1.4.02 I also tried a "factory reset" of the DMP-A6 settings. Did not help, still no analog audio out. I will call, but likely must return it. ------ The good news: the side loaded apps I use work great (apple music/classical) and RadioParadise. Full HiRes/Lossless but squeezed through SPDIF and my 20 year old AV receiver for now. Direct display of the GUI on my ipad isn't possible like the installed versions (you get a generic image & volume/pause buttons) but "cast" works fairly well as a remote.
To end this thread, I'll note a replacement unit solved my problem. When switching output to RCA &/or XLR, there is an audible click inside the box. This was absent from my silent unit, so obviously there is a problem with a relay or relays inside the unit.
Sorry you had that problem. Mine works fine in terms of all its outputs. I only wish I could do simultaneous rca and digital outputs so I could AB audio quality
This is my first time posting. Have just received my A6 gen2 today and I seem to have exactly the same problem as Sarah. No audio output, using analogue rca and have also noticed an audible click when switching outputs. I'm going to ask for a replacement.
I think you misread my report - the silent unit had "no click", that is no relay action when changing outputs to/from RCA, etc. An audible click is a good thing.
Thanks for your reply Sarah yes I had misread your post. I hadn't tried turning volume passthrough on and voila it works. I'm no audiophile and will undoubtedly come across more "niggles" as I get used to the a6. Thank heavens for the forum and thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
I will also add a question. Up until now I have been using the BAL XLR outputs. I connected them to the AMP-F2. Everything worked perfectly. When I switch to XLR/RCA the sound disappears. Is this normal? Should both outputs work when set to XLR/RCA? The sound should come out on both XLR and RCA? Am I wrong?
What was it, then...? @oleszcz BUMP! Could you be so kind to tell us what the problem was, and how you fixed? Thanks.
Yes please, what was it then as I just received one of these models and am having the same problem with no sound output...and did the mentioned settings adjustments to no avail...
Very very strange, I don’t want to jump at a conclusion at this time, especially not having enough knowledge of how broad or widespread this incident may be, but from what I’m seeing reading and hearing , It would seem or appear to me that somethings being majorly overlooked at point of origin manufacturing facility ,units Should be thoroughly bench, tested, checked and listen to before it’s even thought about being boxed & shipped. These may have been sitting in a warehouse for some time also And at present the problem is now the appearing , i’ve been through it a few times in past years but never to the extent such as this people get a little taken back sometime they take wording for sarcasm however, I would absolutely box It up immediately send it back please don’t let them tell you we’ll fix it. We’re not talking about AUDIO research ,McIntosh or old Conrad Johnson , Audio note days , no pun intended you get a new one, my man or you get your money back Best of luck get her done it’s a shame you get anxious and joyful to purchasing something nice new and enjoyable in the real world. Things do happen unavoidable but there’s no excuse for this type of content, especially the amount of it. Awful, you’ll get it worked out
My A6 Gen2 Master Edition does not change output channels also :-( No relay click is hearable. Just HDMI ARC out works...so i have a faulty device too i guess. It's not good to hear more people have this problem with a brand new device.
HI Sorry to here that , I forgot their is a post above yours , from MAY, i belevie, I had posted, above yours, I Approximately in or around that timeframe, someone here in my area where I reside, also had that problem, if I remember correctly There was a factory reset it was performed, as best as I can remember. I think it did in fact, rectify the relay or switching problem, That’s a dam shame, however, it certainly appears to me that many of these new units that have been released have had Numerous and various types of problems, such as yours, I really couldn’t comment on, is this a quality control problem or perhaps a parts vendor supplier problem it’s a shame I really wouldn’t know for sure. if I were in that situation as of now I believe I would at least try to perform a total factory reset, perhaps this might rectify your unfortunate situation however, as you STATE, it appears or seems to me that your unit may be within the 30 day timeframe I don’t know if that is correct in my assumption irregardless I would absolutely contact your retailer and ship the unit back For another unit, but again it does most certainly appear that these new releases of current units absolutely Have or seem to appear that’s something is just not being looked at correctly as far as my current knowledge, I was seriously considering the purchase of the A6, for a 2nd small upstairs system, I am somewhat reluctant to do so at this present time, in lieu of these ongoing problems As of now with this particular unit,, it is very aggravating and frustrating, but I’m most certain one way or the other your problem will be Addressed and rectified best of luck to you, with your A6
i tried the software factory reset already. no change. i let the device unplugged now for a few hours and then try again. if all of that does not help, i will contact eversolo directly and if they have no solution, i will send it back to my retailer.
Yes, absolutely your best bet., as much as I hate to put it out there, I have to be honest. I really love the Eversolo units , The only gripe or complaint that I really have that bothers me is when something like this occurs. It’s a problem. I’m very sorry. I am in no way trying to make you feel worse. For lack of better wording But believe me, I do think about this quite often Truly, a shame , I’ve been through a HIFI Rose, Which I sold in favor of the A8, And put a lot of savings back into my pocket upon the sale of that unit, The A8 was so close it just wasn’t worth the difference in cost at all, however, these types of problems to have me wondering as we go into the future well don’t sweat it good luck most certain this will be corrected one way or another. Please have a nice weekend , Please excuse the TT, talk ♂️♂️
