Hi from a Z20 Pro user,

I have no issues whatsoever with 1.0.95.
However, my setup is fairly simple:
    - no AVR
    - Zidoo connected directly to tv
    - tv connected to soundbar thru eARC
    - no ISO files
    - no 3D movies
    - mix of Blu-ray 4K and DVD
    - all in MKV format
    - every movie/tv show jpeg and NFO created with tMM (tiny Media Manager)

I do however have some issues with HT5:
    - although poster wall correctly displays a tv show episode, when clicking on start, error message "HDD not available" but when using Explorer, no problem
    - no poster for collection (i.e. "Jason Bourne", "Expendables", "Mission Impossible"...). This was not an issue with HT4
    - episode length always the same

    Hope this helps

Upgraded to the play store one lost 3D Blu Ray ISO playback. Now it won't let me revert back? What am I supposed to do?

Update: tried reloading old firmware based on guide linked... didn't work. But hard rebooting ALL my equipment did something and it's working....haha.

Hi everyone! I recently upgraded my Z10 to the new Z2000 Pro, but I only use it for music. The built-in player can't play folders sequentially or create a queue for continued playback. I can't use other players because none of them can see my internal hard drive. Does anyone use a different player (and which one?) that can see the internal hard drive? Or are there no other options at all against the SAF system in Android 11?

Did you try again without restart? Just hit exit a few times and once the menu is ready, just try again. normally works then

Do you mean that's only a small failure?
Must i Switch something in the Settings?

How in the world is anyone supposed to help when you provide the absolute bare minimum of information?

What does "sometimes big MKV aren't starting"? What is big? Are they full menu ISO or BDMV files? Or just straight MKV movie files? 1080p or 4K?
Why a restart? Does the Zidoo lock up or what is happening to make you do that? What happens when you then select another title before the restart?
Great, so you have 2 8tb Hdds..... connected how? USB we assume? Are they each a stand alone HDD with their own power supply? etc... or part of a NAS? ETC....

Hi everyone, it's been a while since I've been here. I have a Zidoo UHD 5000 that I had unplugged for several months. I've just plugged it in, but the cover scanning isn't working. I don't know why; everything else seems to work, it scans the folder, but it doesn't create any labels. It sends them to the Unclassified folder, and when I try to classify them, no labels appear.
Does anyone know what could be wrong?
    Thanks in advance.

Depending how long it's been mothballed, it's probably a victim of the TMDB problem we had last year.

I suggest updating HT with the latest:

HT5 v5.0.68 Beta Version for Realtek 1619BPD (UPDATED) | Zidoo forum

If you don't want to do that and just want a fix for the TMDB issue, then look here:

Home Theatre 5 Update / TMDB Fix v4.3.52 (Realtek 1619BPD models) | Zidoo forum

Hello all - is there any known workaround for the glitchy playback of rips with the VC-1 codec?

I've noticed that a lot of my MKV rips have started to play back in a very jerky /choppy / jumpy way, as if frames are missing / being dropped and the video stutters and is awful to watch.

I've seen others report the same thing on here, too.

And from testing I've found that for me it only affects files that report as using the VC-1 codec. Any and ALL files that report VC-1 are affected, while all other codecs are unaffected and play fine. All my files are ripped with MakeMKV and I rip just the main movie.

Or if there is no workaround, and the machine has become abandonware with no likely update on its way (which is outrageous and will prevent future Zidoo purchases), is it possible to downgrade the firmware to an earlier version where this is not an issue? I'm on the latest v.1.0.95 firmware, and the latest HT update. If so, which would be best version to downgrade to, and where can the file be found?

    Thanks all

v.1.0.95 was released almost two years ago, that speaks for itself…
I've sold my z9x pro and got an ugoos am6b+ instead (running coreelec / p3i T3), my best decision ever…

You could use something like Handbraake to transcode those into some other video format.

It happens I just watched yesterday on my Z20 Pro a VC-1 encoded movie ("Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory") without any problems.
My firmware version is also 1.0.95. and HT5 has the latest update (5.0.68).
So, it's not a general misbehaviour.

VC-1 codec has been noted as problematic for a long time.. and for reasons that have never fully been explained. In addition, IME, there are some VC-1 titles that play perfectly for me and others in which the video appears to drop frames.. while the audio remains just fine. What was really weird for me was that in some instances, I could start a VC-1 title and as long as I did not stop the movie before it was done, it played fine... But, if I returned to the movie via the bookmark, it always started dropping frames.

Lately, while messing around with outputting everything as LLDV to my projector I have found...(most likely coincidentally!) that some VC-1 titles that I have not yet converted have played perfectly!

Others have reported the easist and quickest option to use is TSMuxer and simply create an ISO from your MKV file.. That seems to allow the VC-1 title to play perfectly... Why is that? Who knows. I have also used Handbrake and converted to a regular AVC /H.264 codec. Those also work perfectly.

It's been years not since the last update. Will we ever get an update for the not-so-long-ago released Zidoo Z9X Pro?
