My Z9X Pro has stopped updating movies. Tried with different drives, still no help.
Removed the drive from H.T app, deleted the folder containing movie match information, and manually scanned the drive. It's not even finding a single movie.
What might be the issue and how to fix it?
p.s: Obviously! It's been given an active internet connection.

Do you have the new HT5 patched app that fixes the TMDB issue?

Nope! But how does it even make a difference? I've never had such an issue since I bought the Z9X Pro.
If "the new HT5 patched app" might fix the issue, where can I get it?

It's been the top post on the forum for a while, lots of people missed it though. I assume it will be seeded out to the updater system eventually but it's here for download.

As far as I know TMDB (the main metadata source Zidoo is using) changed something and broke Zidoo's integration so so files were being matched, no posters downloaded etc.

So they released a hotpatch here, then a full update for the HT app to v5 (like the new boxes have), linked above, which also included a fix for the TMDB issue.

It matters because the Zidoo uses the TMDB API to do the matching. To authenticate against an API, usually that is done with a token that expires after a certain date. Once a token expires, it is no good, and they probably needed to bake a new token into the newest update for HT.

It's a bit confusing that it's called HT "5" but the apk filename is ...4.3.52 whish sounds like version 4.something rather than 5?....

Yep - me too - I'm surprised no-one's mentioned it before!! Poor versioning.

I am still on 1.0.75 firmware and HT4 but with the patch HT is now version 5. I pay more attention to the what the software does than the actual file name as long as the file name is incrementing up.

I'm probably beating a dead horse here, but... Is there a possibility of a "quick fix" for the slow transfer speed issue? 1.0.75 was transferring @ 100mbps. 1.0.95 transferring around 50mbps. It's not a huge deal, but it would be nice to get it back to normal speed again.

Judging by when the previous gen boxes got their last updates, we're probably due one system update for this generation this year, but it will likely be more or less the current beta version being made public.

I think so too — and it’s really a shame, because this version (or maybe the device itself) is still full of bugs.

Today I ran into a new one: I had a movie paused, went to the kitchen for a minute, and suddenly the movie resumed by itself — even though the pause icon was still showing in the bottom right corner. I play most of my files from an attached Samsung SSD. Quite often, playback starts with a black screen — then I have to restart the whole device, and everything works again.

Also, I frequently get weird flickering with Dolby Vision content. The only workaround is to stop playback, return to the main menu, and restart the file — then it plays fine.

It’s pretty obvious at this point that Zidoo has abandoned the device, and I can safely say this will be my last Zidoo player. I’ve been in the media player game for a long time — starting with the early Popcorn Hour models — and this is by far the worst experience I’ve had, especially considering the competition in this price range.

Is there competition out there that supports MVC 3D? Other than the 4K rips, my 3D rips is another reason I've stuck with the Z9X Pro

Not amongst current offerings - SOC manufacturers are following TV manufacturers who followed content providers who followed broadcast companies and are ditching 3D support.

As I've said before, if history repeats itself as it has since the 1950s, we should see 3D resurfacing in about 15-20 years...
