NAS availability

I am using an SSD drive on my DMP-A6. I mainly play my music through Roon, and I frequently have to reboot the unit to have those local files available.

Is there any setting that I can change so it does not go to “sleep”? I love the functionality, but I am wondering if anyone else is experiencing this, and found an alternative to rebooting the unit. Thanks in advance.

 

Just bumping this up. I am surprised that no-one else has experienced this. It is quite disappointing that I have to reboot so frequently. I may open a ticket if mine is the only one experiencing this.

To clarify my setup, I have a 4 TB M.2 SSD installed in the DMP-A6. I play music through Roon running on a MacStudio.

Thanks in advance if there is anything else you can suggest. To me, since I don't love the built in DAC, and use a separate one, this makes this device not as awesome as I thought it was originally.

 

Just a bit puzzled. You say you have a 4 Tb SSD physically installed in your A6, why is this anything to do with NAS availability ? The drive should always be visible under Files as a directly connected drive, it isn't a NAS at all ?

 

I installed a 2TB SSD on the DMP-A6 and let other devices access it via SMB as if it were a NAS, and I haven't had any problems. The DMP-A6 has a Static IP Address for access from other devices.

 

I use the files on the Eversolo for other devices as well. Of course everything works great if I select from the menu but I am a Roon user. Once the DMP-A6 goes to sleep the files are not available for using Roon on the DMP-A6 or any other device, other than using the built in UI on the DMP-A6. A reboot always fixes it and Roon sees the files immediately after the reboot and then everything is good for a day or so.

 

Glad to hear it works for you. I too gave it a static IP address but that did not help. It possibly could be on the Roon side. When it happens tomorrow, I will see if I can access the files via another application or direct file share.

 

Looks to be a Roon issue with the DMP-A6. I can navigate to the shared folder and play a file, all while playing a file locally on my laptop, despite the files not being 'avaialable' within Roon. I will check their forums to see if anyone else has experienced this and solved it.
