    I'm tiring to find a decent Media Player, but everything I have tried has substantial issues. Most suffer from lack of settings or settings that don't appear to 'stick'. The biggest are;
    Inconsistencies what each remote button does, especially the navigation keys, especially when it comes to jumping forward or back,
    The ability to turn OFF subtitles,
    Set a fixed aspect ratio,
    To be able to fully use the application with just the remote, no mouse,
    Turn off scanning for movie posters (for HT 2; out of 260 movies, half don't have posters causing one to scroll thru two separate lists!)

    The Android version of VLC Player is the direct opposite of the Windows version (that has the most customizing out of any player I have tried), this version has very little customization (controls).
    The default Zidoo player, has aspect ratio problems; 16x9 (non-movies as in TV series) shows as 4x3 where the other players don't have that issue.

    What are you guys using??

    Try to use mxplayer, I have movies/shows on my computer and now I stream them right to my firestick... you have to have a good wireless system/signal to stream without any buffering. This will replace the media player that I would normally use for doing a similar thing.

    Tried that and 4 or 5 others, none were any better. Seems like Android is more the problem, or at least the way these 3rd party programs are written.
    Between the native player & VLC, VLC has the better PQ, but lacks the interaction with Zidoo's remote, forcing you to use a mouse (like many others). Zidoo's player as an annoying aspect ration problem that I already mentioned.

    Up problem. Another players often slow down and do not work with the remote control.
    In addition, there may be difficulties with navigation ising NAS and subtitles.
