hi guys my smb sharing via windows 10 worked great with zidoo media player suddenly it start asking for user name and password and no matter what i enter there it keeps popping up!! my windows 10 is set with permisions to everyone\guest and to password sharing off! there shouldnt be any problems is it a known bug with the firmware? is there a solution for that ? very frustrating thanks in advance for any help
ok guys im glad to say that i understand the problem and was able to fix it the problem is that everytime that the router reset itself (sometimes because electricity failure ) it changes the ip and than the zidoo streamer asks for username and password and thats why when i did hard reset for the streamer it always fixed the problem but was very frustrating!! there is a more easy solution 1) close the lan and wifi connection on the zidoo 2)close your router or take off the power 3)after the router resets and works again you should than activate the lan connection on the zidoo and than it get the right ip adress and dont ask for username\password if anyone can fix the firmware that it automatickly recognizes the right ip or know a better solution for the problem please post a reply
you can setup in your router a permanent IP for every pc/box in your network. this is a must for a good lan network anyway
setup > network configuration> add DHCL reservation, there you put the ip you want ( range is under " DHCP IP ADRESS RANGE " on the same page ) you need to have name of box/pc ip you want: mac of the box/pc
when i enter the info on my router setup i write the ip and mac of the zidoo x9s ??? how can i check it ?
not sure exactly where, but there should be a status/list of connected devices in the router interface that tells you the mac adresses , i think its also visible under x9s network settings
