For my classical music I manually add Lyrics to the tag Lyrics, however these are not displayed. I understood that Eversolo would be able to display lyrics. Which tag is Eversolo using for Lyrics?
What file types? The tagging layer being different between, say, FLAC and/or MP3, the tag names might also be; although this shouldn't be relevant (knowing the file type, the underlying library responsible for tag extraction should do it transparently) it might still be...
Hi @Thijs, there is no de-facto official tag in the VorbisComment (the tag system used for FALC files) for storing lyrics, nevertheless the LYRICS tag is widely used, and supposedly considered the "standard" (although, as I said, there is no standard at all). you can add lyrics in such tag with various tools, kid3 and lyrico (which, IIRC, can also download them) - but please note that only unsinchronised lyrics are supported. What tool did you use to add yours? A useful utility to verify the entirety of the VorbisComment (but this applies to many media files too...) is mediainfo; a command-line should come with every Linux distribution. You can downloaded it for free for various platforms from the mediainfo website: https://mediaarea.net/en/MediaInfo Then, this must be said - it's not sure yet to what extent Eversolo supports the lyrics. I remember the topic being discussed some time ago (moths? a year?) but cannot confirm, nor deny. HTH Cheers, Al.
Hi Al, Mainly I edit tags with YATE incidentally dBpoweramp. In the EverSolo Control app on one of the pages, it shows 'No Lyrics'. While as is shown on the other screenshot, the tag 'LYRICS' of the applicable file does contain lyrics. I was therefore puzzled and wondered if perhaps EverSolo uses a differently named tag for lyrics??
Can you share one of your files WITH the lyrics? You can PM me; I'd like to analyse it, as I have been into situations where the program responsible for tagging simply used a wrong system (only when the file came with no TAG at all). It would be interesting for me to investigate. Thank you, Al.
Click member name (here Nutul), this will open a box where you can click 'Start a Conversation', then you can upload a file and write your text
Send me a copy as well, I'll check it too. If you can't upload the file, you'll have to upload it to a cloud drive first, and then send me the link.
Thanks for your confirmation that de facto no standard exists (yet?). Bit strange though since FLAC is the file type that most web shops provide
I know right now as it is, it is not possible. But technically what would prevent Eversolo or any other actor from doing it ? When a music is streamed all music information are available, just need to search locally and match a lrc file ?!
Artist name, album name, track name, they may all be slightly different from platform to platform... so searching for a file after you somehow managed to have its name constructed from metadata is not the most reliable way... and can fail. For local files is easy, because the player knows the track file name, and just searches for the same name and different extension.
