largest supported drive?????

  1. I did a search and found nothing.

HOW big a drive can I use on my Z2000 PRO????? At present I'm using a 18 TB drive When formated = just over 16 TB. I just Had to move loads of files to another mediaplayer as I ran out of SPACE. Would appreciate an honest reply.

I assume that I can't add another large drive unless it is connected to my EG. laptop. I hope this doesn't make an arm out off u and me.

External Hard drives have no limit. I use 14 26 TB drives connected using a USB hub. Internal has a limit of 18 TB, I believe. As long as the external Hard drives have their own power source, then it should be fine. i.e., a desktop external Hard drive.

  3. I appreciate the quick response m8. Nice to know.

    I am using a 24TB drive in my UHD8000, but moving to a UGREEN DXP4800PLUS NAS with 4x32TB RAID5.

  5. I'm using an external 26TB western digital but I seem to have a problem. I have TV Series stored on it and every time I want to watch something the drive has gone to sleep. I than have to reboot the media player to watch it.
Plex can't wake it up either in a matter of fakt after plex has done the posters, plex can't play them as it suddenly can't find them.
Anyone got a sugestion or two of how to keep it awake????????????? as it is enoying having to reboot after every episode.

There is a drive sleep option in Settings/Options but it depends what you mean by external drive - actually connected to the box or on the network.

Either way, if a drive goes to sleep, attempting to access it should bring it back up again so although it might take a few (and maybe a few more...) seconds for the drive to wake, you shouldn't have to reboot anything.

  7. That setting is for internal HD, already set. 26TB drive is conneted via media player front USB port.
This is the first time it started up after about 3 seconds. I'll try tomorrow morning again. I'll let you know what happens.
Thanks for the quick response M8.

  8. Didn't have to wait til the morning.I went to look at my second episode (timespan approx. 1 hour). After 20 - 30 seconds it started up with sound only.
restarted, after 20 - 30 seconds it started with sound only. Normally when this happens I usually re-boot mediaplayer, but I 2desided to keep on trying.
3rd time around the same as first and second time(took 20 - 30 seconds to start with sound only)
On my 4 try, it took about 30 seconds before it started, this time I had video also.

  9. Next day at lunch time. Played an episode, started straight away. Turned out to be a AVI format.
Next one was a MKV file, Tried playing it 10 times, took 20 - 30 seconds each time to start with sound only. so no deal.
Last one was a MP4 file, started straight away.
Tried the MKV file again. Tried playing it 10 times, took 20 - 30 seconds each time to start with sound only. so no deal.

    RE STARTING THE MEDIA MLAYER.

Guess what! started in less than 3 seconds, and without going to "sleep".
Markswift2003, how would you explain this problem.

I'm at the stage where I'm thinking about conecting it to my laptop to see if there is any inprovement. If this doesn't
work I'll have to plug it into my old mediaplayer and hope that it can read the drive.

As far as the Zidoo is concerned there's no reason an AVI and an MP4 would start from a disc but an MKV wouldn't - all three are just containers.

It sounds like either a dodgy file or dodgy disc (bad sectors maybe?) - the fact that it starts with sound only also tends to point to that.

  11. Thanks M8
You were right. Something wrong with the file, plays alright on laptop and pc.
I played a different mkv file this morning and it started within a few seconds.
I could hear the drive spin up when I selected it, that never happen with the other one.
