It is better import files into the internal storage or buy an SSD and put the files in that?
    And why?
    Thanks!

The existing internal storage is really for the streamer operating system. Best with any significant amount of music files to organise separate storage for them e.g. internal NVME or external SSD over USB.

    Thank you.
So why is there 32 GB in internal memory?
The operating system takes up less than 10 GB, there is at least 22 GB free..
    I do not understand :(

It isn't just the storage space for the os itself but space in case it needs to do large copies etc

I "filled" up my internal storage with music files, there is about 2GB left. The unit operates just fine. I have more I want to add but will need to buy a SSD 2TB card. Once I add that I will most likely move the files off the internal 32GB onto the 2TB SSD.......We'll see how it all goes.

I have also simply connected my WD Passport drive to the A6 and played the music files from there, there are many options.

I have about 300G of music on the internal 2T SSD. Works great and I can't imagine anything else would be preferable. I rarely use the other capabilities of the machine such as streaming.

Be aware that a factory reset always cleans the Internal Storage too. Not a good place to store music in. You should use it as temporary storage only.

Oh for sure. Everything gets ripped to the laptop and then copied onto the A6. And the laptop is backed up. For years I kept all the CDs too, but there were so many, I had to start trading them for other used media.

The internal storage is intended for system files mainly. Sure, you can store what ever you want there, but keep the above mentioned problems in mind in case of factory reset or other damage.
There are no further restrictions if the capacity is enough for you. Would be good to leave a few GB empty for oncoming updates or extensions - maybe they need more space or simply room to unpack their files.

As a rule of thumb, never have your software AND music on the same disk. A software update could require a disk wipe, and if that happens, you'll not be the happiest one...
I would go for an SSD.
