Is there a difference in picture quality between Z3000 PRO 8k and UHD8000?

When I compared the old Z9X and UHD3000 1:1, I felt that there was quite a difference in image quality.

So I think there will be a difference in image quality between the z9x 8k and UHD8000.

However, since I don't need the analog audio part at all, I'm interested in the Z3000 PRO 8K.

I think the biggest difference between the standard and premium models is the power supply.

The Z3000 PRO 8K is said to use a switch power supply, but I wonder if there will be any difference in picture quality compared to the Uhd8000.

 

All models in the same range have identical picture quality - it's the same hardware and the same software.

 

Have both those players and never observed any difference in PQ and neither for SQ via HDMI. Nice DAC sound though with UHD3000.
I do like the Hybrid PSU of the UHD3000 (now UHD8000) but it does nothing for PQ for me.

 

So you not any/much difference in image quality between the Z9X and UHD3000 ?

 

For me these are identical as Mark says too.

The PQ of Z9X 8K at first impression looks a bit better than with the Realtek Z9X model. Just got my unit yesterday and just watched my first movie.

 

Ok, would be interested to hear you thoughts on the new line re PQ compared to the realtek models, as it doesn't sound like a night and day difference so far, but I could be wrong of course.

 

Without going into detail and whilst I was told any difference between my Z1000 Pro and my new UHD8000 wouldn't be night or day, on stock settings I definately could see an improved PQ on the UHD8000. I haven't played around yet with the much improved DV settings but feel sure I shall see further PQ improvement

Never use the DV10 engine as my TV is both HDR10+ and DV compliant. I am not into upscaling to HDR as my TV also does an excellent job there by itself too.

 

As @rozel says, not night and day, but better.

You an also qualify this quantitatively with test patterns - although banding, clipping etc are not a problem in real word content on either machine, the new boxes are measurably (slightly) better.

The big bonus comes in HDR agility - the new boxes trump all previous models in this respect.
