When I want to remove (delete) an Album folder on the internal SSD, I need to delete it at least 3 times (sometimes 6 or 7) before the folder is gone. The music files inside the folder are deleted on the first try but not the folder. I tried deleting a folder today thru my PC connected to the SMB Share (DMP_SAMBA) connection. I can move or rename the folder with the PC but it also will NOT delete the folder. In fact when I did this, the remaining folder would not delete in 20 tries on the DMP-A6 front screen. I had to move it the the root directory, delete the (useless) Movies folder and re-name this old folder back to Movies. The SSD was originally formatted when initially installed into the A6 at first power On etc. Been this way since I first got the A6 almost 2 years ago. I'm on the latest FW BTW. Any ideas ???
Hi there, I had the same „problem“, but after a while I found out, that you just have to do a rescan of your music library after deleting a folder and the problem is solved. Hope, I could help. Enjoy your music.
I'll try that but think I already did this before ? I re-scan or update only after major additions etc. Note: I use Folders to find what I want to play Vs artist or albums etc. I have 12 main folders by Genre numbered 1 thru 12 plus name with the Album sub folders within each category. I don't see why a re-scan would delete the empty folders and you may have (in your case) dozens of empty folders remaining on your drive ?
A rescan does not delete folders physically, but to me it seems that a rescan ereases the memory which lets those deleted folders still appear. Just try it. If it doesn‘t work, nothing is lost. Enjoy your music
Just tried and the re-scan does not delete the (empty) folder ! You may want to go into Folders (on the main screen) and look at your SSD. There may be many empty folders left over ?
latest. If I shut down after a delete and power back up (without playing anything), then delete the empty folder(s) they will delete !
