Hi @Markswift2003, @Zidoo Support-Kim. Thanks for the update. It's nice to know the RTD1619DR products are still getting them.

I see that many of the issues I brought up for v5.0.68 still exist. The biggest one being not able to scan if there are plenty of unmatched items (or previously matched items that have had their match info cleaned up). Maybe that's an issue related to using a database that's been upgraded and converted over many, many previous versions. Perhaps a fresh scan would solve that (which would take more than a day given mediainfo scanning, along with the following week of fix-ups - I will do that, one day).

The other important issues for me are that it no longer shows watched status icons in the list view and it also seems that if the "show watched symbol" poster view option is enabled, then the collection page view only shows the watched icon for fully watched tv seasons, not for partially watched seasons. And there's the highlighting of the wrong letter in the alphabetical navigation issue.

I've also noticed that after a scan, where I might have both 1080p and 2160p versions of a TV series and it has nicely separated them into All/Version 1/Version 2, switching between the versions will show that the files in one version are 1080p, H.264/AVC, etc. and in the other version are 2160p, H.265, etc. But if I play a single ep. from eg. the 2160p version, then it now shows all files in all versions as being 2160p, H.265. I have a similar case with DVD and BD rip versions, and after playing a single ep. it does the same but it has kept that one version are TS files and the other are M2TS files. It seems similar (or related) to the long-standing issue where it forgets all the episode lengths. Again after a fresh scan it knows the time of each episode, but after playing one of the episodes they all now report the length of that first played episode. It's as if it has forgotten everything from the mediainfo scan (if I click in "More" to show the mediainfo on any of the eps. of any version, it will give something that matches the first ep. played).

I also have a request. Given that it keeps different versions of the same TV season, it'd be nice if we could get a menu on the Version 1/Version 2 (and for consistency ALL) buttons to mark as watched, just like with the individual episode buttons.

@Markswift2003, @Zidoo Support-Kim, it's not related to using an upgraded or converted database. I can reproduce it with a completely empty database and fresh scans.

I've attached a test case that hopefully you can use to reproduce it. What I've attached has a simulated directory hierarchy. I created a simple 2 frame sample mkv and I've duplicated it with appropriate TV series episode names. I've compressed it as a .rar since that will be able to compress across all the mkvs, as they're all the same, and .rar is one of the file extension this forum accepts (I was going to use .tar.gz/.tgz but they're not allowed extensions)

I am using an SMB share from a Windows machine (if that matters). For this test it might be useful to turn off automatic updating of sources and do explicit updates.

When you extract the test case, you'll see:
    Code:
    ScanTest
        Cheers
            Season 1
                Cheers.1982.S01E01.mkv
                Cheers.1982.S01E02.mkv
                etc.
            Season 2
            etc.
        One Piece
            Season 0
                One.Piece.1999.S00E01.mkv
                One.Piece.1999.S00E02.mkv
                etc.
            Season 1
            etc.

Create a test folder on the SMB share and copy/move in the Cheers folder. Add the test folder as a source in HT and it'll pop up asking to scan, and let it do that. I kept the default options. After a bit you'll have a few seasons of Cheers added to HT.

Clean up matching info for Cheers. I did that in the sources list, browsing into the test source, getting the menu for the Cheers folder and choosing to clear matching info. I would guess clearing it from the main poster wall interface would be equivalent, but I think there it has to be done season by season?

Now copy/move the One Piece folder into the main folder, alongside Cheers, and do a scan of the test source again. For me, that will not complete. It's a bit random as to exactly how far it gets, but it won't complete. One time it got to 98/238, another time 128/230.

Hopefully you can reproduce the issue.

I've always said that database housekeeping is poor in HT, and this is an example of that. I'd never use the in built tools - too much gets left behind even after supposedly deleting them.

If I want to make major changes I always reset HT completely to make sure all the rubbish is cleared out.

A factory reset will restore the default version of HT for the firmware you have installed.

Hello @Markswift2003 I think there are still some bugs in this version. I have .nfo files and performed a rescan based on them, but the screen turned off automatically when it reached about 80% progress, and it was as if nothing had been scanned at all. Afterward, I tried scanning from scratch a few times—this time without using the .nfo files—but the same thing happened twice; it stopped on its own before the full scan was complete and didn't actually process anything. I reset my device twice and then updated to this version; eventually, luck was on my side and I managed to complete a fresh scan, but it misidentified many of the movies. I also encountered several freezing issues.

Hello ! Is the dynamic background working right now? I checked it when it first appeared and turned it off, but now I remembered it and it’s not where it used to be.

No - I believe there were copyright issues with them so they have been pulled.

This test case is with a completely reset HT. Whether HT itself is the best tool for database housekeeping or not, cleaning up matching info shouldn't subsequently cause a source update/scan to hang. Either the clean up match info needs fixing, or the scan needs fixing (or both). This issue does seem to only occur if matched files explicitly get their match info cleaned up, rather than files that were never matched in the first place. In my test case, clearing of a whole TV series was just to get the number of files with cleaned up matching info greater than 102 to trigger the issue. In real world usage (at least now that HT maintains TV season versions), it's just one file here, one file there, that all add up.

There are reasons why someone might want to clean up matching info for specific files. eg. I have prefs set to ignore "sample" files (along with the default "trailer" and "recycle") but it still picks up some sample files (and often matches them as something completely bizarre) and I have to clear them. I prefer to clean up matching info rather than remove them completely. Often special features get matched incorrectly, so I'll clear matching info for them until I get around to manually rematching and fixing them up. Renaming files isn't always an option for people if files are being seeded from the same place that HT is scanning.

    Ok, I've confirmed this behaviour.

It seems to happen when NFOs are present whether scraping with NFO priority or not. It seems to occur at around 540 titles scraped and seems to affect all current HT versions on both Realtek and AMLogic.

I've captured and submitted a debug log and sent a report with a library backup to the devs.

You said yours reached about 80% - roughly how many titles would that be?

I installed the version, but unfortunately, I’ve run into a problem. Half of my NAS drives—3 out of 6—are no longer being detected. Fortunately, I have two units, so I was able to load a current library from the second Orb (running the old HT version) into the new HT setup—after performing a full reset, of course. Unfortunately, the problem persists.

After installing version .68, everything was fine again, and all the drives were detected.

Well, what now? I guess I’ll stick with the old version.

Thanks for the update. Nice to see that the older devices are not completely abandoned.

However, my two biggest complaints still haven't been fixed:
    1. In the "currently watching" section, TV shows still show just "Season 1, Season 2, ... Season X" and are missing the actual title in front of that.
      • Interestingly, TV shows scraped via TVDB show the title, while those scraped via TMDB don't. This means, showing the title in front is the correct behavior and HT stores it in the database.
    2. All episodes in a season show the same duration as the first episode.
      • After finishing an episode, going back one screen, and then re-entering the season, the correct duration is shown on the "Resume" button. So technically HT stores the correct time in the database, but doesn't show it.
Another recent issue, but not related to this version of HT, but also not fixed by it:
Newly added movies no longer show Rotten Tomatoes ratings.

I haven't performed a complete reset of HT yet. Would that help to fix the issues? (nfo and poster files are stored locally. Would I lose my watched status of the individual files?)

    Thank you.

SMB sources are working fine for me after the update.
