My considered advice - use VS10 SDR ;)

Yeah, I know....we've been through this loop.

I don't need a spyder to tell me what my eyes see. I don't like what VS10 does to the image.

But, as always, your support on these forums is invaluable - without you, well.....

    hy,
To avoid any issues, this naming convention works very well
    series name-S02E01.mkv
    serie's trailer:
    series name-S02E01-trailer.mkv

Am I correct in assuming that if a movie can be seen and played from the media player but does not show up in HT5 (in neither posterwall nor unmatched), that it has been scraped incorrectly and exists somewhere on the posterwall under an incorrect name? If so, is there a way to see what it scraped as via it's path in media player?

I'm missing quite a few movies that I had under my Z9X that are not showing up on my new 8K... I can confirm that the KNIVES OUT movies among these so I have a place to test any solution..

Yes - I think the only way that can happen is if the movie is matched as another version of an existing movie. You should be able to find it by looking at "Sources".

(I'm back over on my side of the pond now btw ;) )

OK.. so if your back over there, You'll probably be asleep by the time I get home to check on this... I can navigate to the movies in the file manager and play them from there. When you say SOURCES, I think you mean in the top right hand corner of the posterwall... I've often found that selection frustrating as it never seems to do what I would intuit.. I always seem to be either initiating a new scan, or creating a new source when I muck about in there...but, as you know..I'm special.

Can you please explain to this 2 year old how I find what these movies have been scraped as from the SOURCES menu? oh..and perhaps, how I get rid of some of the duplicate sources I've created:oops:... I have a TONNE of them on the old box...and have created one on the new box:rolleyes:

Bear in mind you're dealing with a jet lagged brain here...

So yes, sources is the top right thing in HT home page :) but in hind sight I'm not 100% sure if the navigation is by logical folders or (possibly) illogical scraped names...

Usually movies that are stuck together in A B C boxes are named very similarly, so are easy to identify... Kind of difficult to figure out though without looking at your database..

Maybe a couple of examples might help...

If I understood your question, you should just point to the movie file in the SOURCES list and you'll see on the left side how it scraped from database.

On my case, I’d to rematch manually most of the movies which I matched when added. It means you have to search for those primary names in the posterwall and placed at one end of the list when sorted by added time.

OK... so the plot thickens...Did as you guys suggested.. Found the movie in SOURCES, which showed it complete with correctly scraped folder and indicating that it was already part of THE KNIVES OUT COLLECTION...backed out and confirmed that it was neither in the overall posterwall nor the COLLECTIONS subset...
Went back through sources and played the file for a couple of minutes and backed out...voila collection and movies now show up!

I'm glad to have them back...but what the heck was that about?

Something similar happened to me, Prime Target TV collection disappeared from HT completely bt it remained in Media manager. So I clicked play but selected the poster and up came the HT style page. Then selected ep 1 and played for 10 minutes. went back to HT and it was there under TV and watching etc. Fixed!!!!

The only thing the developers need to do (if they can't find the time for a new firmware) is to make firmware 1.2.22 stable, not beta, with the ability for anyone to online-downgrade to it (for those who need it).

My device works better on the current firmware than 1.2.22 so that is a big no from me. But if you mean the ability to flash whatever firmware you want then I agree.

I very much doubt that will ever happen - don't get me wrong, I'd love to see the firmware downgradable - I just don't see it happening.

Oh, Mark... I know I've been driving you crazy with this... I apologize. I need a solution, but I don't see any prospects. The only way things could change would be if I bought a new TV (maybe the mediabox would be more stable with a different model), but that won't happen for at least five years.

    No apology needed!

But I don't believe that a different TV will make a difference - stuttering (which I believe is the issue you have) is to do with file delivery and playback and not the display - I can't think of a mechanism in the video chain that would allow a TV to cause playback to stutter.

Hypothetically, a situation where the source sends malformed data and the sink decides to completely discard the frame could lead to that. I'm not saying that is what is happening, however without the ability to reproduce the behaviour in a development environment, all theories are worth entertaining.
