That's not really recommendable in case you got many movies manually matched.

 

I use NFOs and local art so any manual matches are restored.

 

You're right but unfortunately my experience made me to rematch many when HT version change. Anyway we've to take maximum care and make copy before cleaning.

We agree that the upgrade in question only starts when the HT5 application itself is launched, and not right after installation
while you're still in Media Center ?

Just to be sure, approximately how long does the application and system need to complete the database upgrade ?
To know how long I have to wait without touching anything ?

(My Collection contains approximately 1400 movies and 850 TV episodes)

 

10 mins to 30 - mine was about 25 mins.

 

Seem to remember it was less than a minute for 600 movies, but I'm not sure - I certainly wasn't waiting around for half an hour!

Everyone's database is different though - I clear mine out often and given the fact that the database stores everything you do in terms of file playback, whether in HT or not, if you haven't cleared it out recently it could be full of all sorts of crap!

 

I lost the alphabetical preselection on the left side. I changed to .50. Is it a setting I changed or a feature of ht5.050?

On the left of the movie /tv-show list was a list of possible alphabetical pre-selections.
So when you selected 'P' the selector jumped to the items with a p.

I got 4 items in the list and all 4 items have a letter on the left.

 

1,200 movies and 4,700 TV episodes here.

The person was asking about 1400 movies and 850 TV episodes.

 

Sorry - I'm a bit lost - there's always been an A-Z on the right as long as you have "Poster List Alphabetical Navigation" switched on and the poster page is sorted by Poster Name (obviously sorting by date or rating etc precludes the use of a A-Z list!) and that hasn't changed:

I never cleared my database, so you advise me to do it ?
Can you just remind me what is deleted when we do this operation, and what is not touched,
just to be sure that I am not going to reset something that I should not have touched...

This corresponds to emptying the caches, is that right (all the caches ? or some do not need to be reset?)

HT 5.0.50

 

Updated to latest version and when I rebooted as I always do for updates, my resolution changed from 4K 23.967 to 4K 60. Weird. Never had that happen before. The firmware updates usually reset to Auto but never one of these HT updates. No big and not an issue at all just thought it was strange.

 

Now, that is an interesting question - probably backed-up from my z1000 pro, restored into the AML box, and then countless updates.....so, maybe there needs to be a flush out now and again.

My issue with that, is after changes to all your posters/getting your collection the way you want it, I'm not sure I want to start from ground zero all over again.

 

Does anyone know what site Zidoo gets its dynamic backgrounds from?
