I bought DMP-A6 a few months ago, and it changed my life a bit. I created several playlists myself. Is there a way to edit Eversolo playlists in bulk rather than one track at a time? For example, I'd like to move dozens of songs from one playlist to another. So far, all I see are the "Add to" and "Delete from" options in the three-dot menu for each individual track. But what I need is a way to apply those actions to a selected group of songs within a playlist. I use an iPhone and a Mac. Any tips?
If you know how to export and inport playlists, I can give you some hints for "automated" creation / editing of them You being on a Linux box might enormously help, though.
Thanks for the reply! I'm actually on macOS, not Linux. Since macOS is Unix-based, would your hints for automated playlist creation/editing still apply? I'd really appreciate any guidance that works on a Mac.
Yes, it would. So that we get started (I can be back to you in some 4 / 5 hours...) What I need is an example of a playlist of which you know where its files are, so that we can open it (it is a text file), get the base folder, and then run a command that will take all the files from there and create a PL for you. This of course will also give the option to later edit it, and add/remove files to your like. So, just create a small playlist, say, 5 / 10 files, and export it, so that we can see what its contents are. P.S. The command we're going to use is find and it works with file / folder / extension patterns.
Hi, I use Mp3tag on Mac to generate m3u list, and then import it into DMP. I think you can try it too.
>an example of a playlist of which you know where its files are When I select "export all Eversolo playlists", I see this. Does this mean the exported files will be in the inner storage?
If you choose internal storage space, then there is internal storage space. This is a selection interface. You can choose local, nfs, and smb. Of course, the premise of using nfs and smb is that you have given sufficient permissions.
Chose smb, if you have an SMB share; but as @zxs said, your machine must have write permissions to it in order to write the playlist file there...
If I choose the internal storage (with enough space), do I access that space to edit the playlists with my iPhone or my Mac? Looks like MP3tag is for Mac (or Windows).
I still don't know the difference between "Storage" and "SMB". To edit the playlist by bulk, should it be Storage or SMB, or I can use both?
You can use either, depending on how convenient it is for you. However, if you have SMB, you should use SMB first, so that your playlist file can be independent of the machine, and you can also use this m3u file when using other software, without having to copy it from the DMP machine. This is how I understand it.
Thank you. I managed to access from my mac to DMPA-6. "Share" icon appeared on my mac desktop. So I selected "share" and exported and put a playlist to share>storage>eversolomusic. But somehow I can't read the exported file (.evpls) with MP3tag app on my mac.
Oh, sorry for not making it clear. You can only use Mp3Tag to export playlists to DMP. And the playlists exported by DMP can only be used by DMP. This is DMP's own format and cannot be used by other software.
That's not exactly what I meant — sorry if my explanation was unclear earlier. The key point is not whether you're exporting to “Storage,” “SMB,” “Shared,” or “NFS,” but rather the format of the exported playlist. The .evpls format is a DMP-specific playlist format. It can only be used on DMP (Eversolo) devices and won’t be recognized by other software like MP3Tag. If you want to create a playlist that can be used with MP3Tag, Foobar2000, or other players, you should export it as a standard .m3u or .m3u8 file, and save it to an SMB folder. That way, the playlist is device-independent and accessible from other software or devices. To summarize: .evpls: Only works on the DMP device. .m3u / .m3u8: Standard formats that work with most software and devices. So your options are: Export .m3u from MP3Tag and save it to your SMB folder (recommended) Or let the DMP create a .evpls playlist (usable only on the DMP itself) Hope this clears things up

And I don' think I have any other playlist-exporting devices than DMP. Is Mp3tag still useful for that purpose and circumstance?
MP3Tag works well if your playlist only includes local music files. But if it includes network (streamed) music, MP3Tag won’t be able to handle it — in that case, you’ll have to use the playlist generated by the DMP.
Unfortunately my playlist is 100% from streaming service (AppleMusic and Qobuz). But thank you anyway.
