A6, A8 and A10 are streamers + DAC only...

Still you can just not use it, right...? In the digital domain, no Eversolo unit does any preamp. If, OTOH, you mean pre-amp by means of EQ, then... well, yes, they do, but you are not obliged to use that.

Best choice "ever":

T8 (pure streamer) + your DAC of choice (as in pure DAC).

 

All 3 streamers they have are just that and can be operated as thus.

Don't nitpick the DMP-A10's great concept. It's really well thought out and incredibly well-made. And if you don't like it, buy something else.
There's so much great junk on the market, just visit TEMU.

I've tried to do this quest as well, everyone adds a preamp volume control these days...even the T8 has one they really don't advertise. Better off getting the T8 and a separate stand-alone DAC which are tough to fine these days without streaming or volume controls. I'd rather not pay for the extra features as well but for most people they want an "all-in-one" device. I just don't want a knob on the front of the unit to take up unnecessary real estate...however the T8 does have space for a knob...but that nitpicking.

From my perspective, stand-alone units are rare and not as commercially wanted but I could be wrong. But the T8 is just a great all around unit, not finding any flaws besides the lack of documentation they provide in their user manuals. They seem to expect you have used their products in the past, for instance I found the volume control and the fact that it plays my SACD ISO files by accident. And they don't really tell you how to use the thermal pads in the user guide....I'm sure everyone else knows what it was for, but I've been out of the computer hardware scene for a number of years...all my storage still has spinning disks

 

Eversolo user documentation is very poor, almost non-existent. If you do manage to track down what manuals they have, you will find they are never updated when new features are released.

 

It seems they organized this forum for us to do just that—to get us to write the Technical Documentation ourselves.
I don't really like that.

 

I have to admit I do like the fact there is a dedicated forum for this product.

 

I like the forum.
I just don't accept that EverSolo doesn't provide full technical documentation. Customers have to find solutions themselves.

If you create new options, please share them on the forum. Two days ago, my display layout changed to a completely unreadable one.
The letters are capitalized, and the cover is gone. I had to dig through the settings to restore the previous layout. I don't like someone else deciding for me. I bought the DMP-A10, and it's up to me to decide which features I currently use. Please correct this, and future updates should always retain the current customer settings. Please take this into consideration. Best regards, I'm extremely impressed with the sound from my DMP-A10 , but not necessarily with the work of EverSolo's IT staff.

It set itself up like this for me.

 

And I have this display setting permanently selected. And I had to reset it. Such minor things are annoying, though.

 

I see. When you enter the basic theme, it appears to be the default option.
However, the default option can never be exactly the same as everyone's choice in Classic option because Simple Mode (3) has fewer modes than Classic Mode (7).
