Thanks, @Markswift2003! Interestingly, for the previous four months or so, I've had to leave whatever I last played via the Zidoo paused near the end. If I let it go back to the UI, it would freeze up before long (but not predictable when) during the screensaver with a bunch of the images I supplied, and I'd have to power my Z1000 Pro down and back on again to recover. It would never freeze during the screensaver while having a video paused.

I checked, and I had been using the Z1000-Pro_P_v6.4.68_202407291623_ota-package firmware since August 2nd, so it was weird the issue only started happening halfway between then and now.

So far, for the last 14 hours, after installing the 4.3.40 Home Theater app update, it hasn't frozen up.

Edit: Hopefully the issue with the same path showing up for multiple copies is fixed soon, though.

Edit 2: Oh well, it started crashing inevitably, although I haven't seen the freezing during the screen saver yet, but sometimes it would crash before, too.

I'm still puzzled that it takes so long to access - On mine it's not as immediate as it is when the JSON strings are cached, but it's not far off and the animation of the badges makes it look deliberate.

I've asked if the devs can look at this - I don't understand why the JSON strings are deleted rather than just being migrated to the new table - as I say, I assume this is an oversight rather than by design.

 

It shows the path to the first title only - if that annoys you, turn off the path view - there's no need to see it and I find it distracts from the aesthetic.

 

I don't understand what you're saying happens, but it sounds like database corruption and there is a certain amount of database housekeeping that happens during the update which might explain why it no longer happens.

 

But I need to see this information to choose the right file. And it worked on version 4.3.37

 

If I remember I'll mention it, but why not name the files correctly then the A, B, C boxes will tell you which is which and you can get rid of the messy path text? Much more elegant.

That never used to be the case, and as I said in my post above it's not actually doing that now. It's inconsistent. Sometimes it will update, sometimes it won't, and the inconsistency appears to be new to 4.3.40.

 

Was that on HT4 or HT5?

 

I know you are talking to @Stubie, but just my 2 cents.
It was working allright in HT4 and also in HT5 v4.3.37.

And the problem with the corner labels was also introduced in HT5.

 

Excellent update to HT5
On my UHD3000 running ….40, trailers are working big time! I downloaded the latest Doctor Who, matched instantly via TMDB and then when I opened it on Zidoo HT a trailer on a tv show loaded including Behind the scenes and 2 additional trailers!!! A big improvement to HT5 operation.
To pause playback of a trailer use the OK button. The info button brings up, top left, technical info, just one line.

Yes indeed. It accessed 3 the first one The Making of followed by 2 standard trailers.

 

Hmm, I've just tried re-scanning a few TV shows using TMDB as the scrapper, and no TV show trailers here...odd. You get online trainers for TV Shows?

 

I second the comments about the path not showing properly anymore. You can have A, B, C, it will only display the path of A, whichever letter is highlighted. I managed to show other paths once or twice but it's very inconsistent, while it used to be working perfectly as expected before that very last update.
I use the path for several reasons, first is because, old bug, HT is not always understanding the resolution well (I guess some metadatas are wrong, HT doesn't fix it by looking at the actual file, but the file path has the right infos), and second because when it comes to bonus, I never successfully named the bonus files for HT to display their proper title, it's always A, B, C or resolutions, even if I use the naming convention MovieName.(1#Biographie). Here again, the path helps.

 

Absolutely. Doctor Who worked, The White Lotus, Sense 8 Black Mirror etc. So not all depends on if there are trailers made and available. When I have time I’ll load a few local trailers for TV to check.

 

Confirmed - rescanned Clarksons Farm using TMDB and it's now pulling in the TV show Trailer.

but it doesn’t show a moving image that why I didn’t bother with my red button. ie been there done that!
