Home Theatre 5 Update / TMDB Fix v4.3.40 (AMLogic S928X models)

@Eki Shaw @Markswift2003 there may be a bug that could lead to loss of data.

I un-installed the 4.3.37_Beta APK, then installed the 4.3.40 APK.

I then went into HT and saw a brief message (2 or 3 seconds) that the database was being updated. After that, I ended up on a screen that said there were no devices and everything was gone.

I rebooted, to see if that would help, but it did not. Everything was gone. I had to restore from backup taken with firmware 1.2.01. The restore worked.

 

For the past three days, the thumbnails of my movies have disappeared from the poster wall but are still present in the media center. I have repeated the scanning process of my NAS several times, but no movie thumbnails appear. However, the thumbnails of my series are still present on the poster wall. Any idea?

 

Did you read the post #1? Otherwise do it and download>install the patch 4.3.40 APK.

 

Why did you uninstall 4.3.37_beta? That's the reason you had to restore from a backup. You should have just installed 4.3.40 overtop of the existing version and all your data would've been there.

 

There was no need to uninstall the previous version - that would revert back to the current firmware version of HT but I've never tried.

Tables in the database in v4.3.40 has been jiggled around which is why you saw that message but I've no idea why the database would clear like that - that usually requires a reset of HT.

 

I copied the patch to the NAS and tried to open it in the media center, but it didn't work. Is it better to use a USB drive? Or should I wait for the patch via OTA?

 

No reason it wouldn't open in Media Center from a NAS.

Try the APKinstaller or web installer

 

I checked this option and almost every movie has a trailer now , but the quality still looks like 480p on my 133" screen, can I change it somewhere?
and it loads for a few seconds, it probably can't be speed up?

No trailers for the tv show?

 

If you want trailers in a better quality, you have to download them yourself, in the Home Theater you can not determine it

for me on the Z9X 8K the details are still not showing the info, when i click on retrieving audio and video information it keeps loading , i can not go back, only thing i can do is press home.
and btw i am using smb as a source .

No release notes. So, other than looking for changes with a keen eye, there is no other info. Maybe Zidoo will make an announcement in due time.
